First 3/4 of this book was talk, talk, talk about what previously had occurred. Little interesting. Less action. I have read every Scott Harvath book. I could have written this one in the form a book report. Tempted to return it.

The basic premise of the team might be plausible, but the writing is just BAD. And the female character that no matter what is going on has to interject thoughts about women always being second? Unrealistic. I don't know who in the Clancy estate authorized this mess but they need to shut it down!

I've read all of the prior books in this cutesy series, so I thought I would listen to the last one on audiobook while planting flowers. I could not get past the narrator! I probably did not make it through the first chapter. I returned it.

The story started out with an okay flow but once the "plot" and/or story line started to become clear it was a huge eye roll of old themes, ridiculous and unbelievable twists. I regret the credit and the time I invested in this mess that gets really messy at the end trying to explain things.

Terrible plot/story line. Amateur at best. Unrealistic. The main character and her side kick secretary could have possibilities for humorous crime solving, but this story was all over the place without any in depth cohesiveness. The final big scene was nothing short of impossible. The female narrator was okay. The male narrator was TERRIBLE! He took a highly decorated, black ops ranger and made him sound like Jethro from the farm with a double digit IQ! He was just as bad on every male character. It is all I can do not to return this book on principle of where was Baldacci when this was written?!

I promised myself not to try any more of the Brit in the FBI series after the last dumb, Indiana Jones esque volcano book I suffered through, but I was short on listening material and bit. Try as I might I couldn't get past the two hour mark. The premise. The performance. The lack of reality. Attempts to twist the plot so much it just twists all over itself. I'm returning this one.

Unfortunately for avid readers this book has a totally unoriginal story line that authors keep repeating. It's amateur writing with over the top drama, which the narrator only made worse. Ann Marie Lee needs to be reading nursery rhymes or children's stories if she must be that "expressive". YUK.
