Historia
Throughout these books, Follett has followed the fortunes of five intertwined families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they make their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution - and rock and roll.

Excellent book and incredible narrator! A timeless story which needs told and re-told. I can’t say enough about Mr. Lee. He brings each story within the story to life.

Historia
In this masterful debut, Martin Clark proves to be the heir apparent of great Southern raconteurs and the envy of more seasoned novelists as he takes us on a frantic tour of the modern South. Hung over, beaten by the unforgiving sun, bitter at his estranged wife, and dreading the day's docket of petty criminal cases, Judge Evers Wheeling is in need of something on the morning he's accosted by Ruth Esther English.

Hidden Treasure
Revisado: 06-25-23
After about the first 20 minutes I was ready to give up on this book. A couple of weeks later I came back with a different mind set. I started over and never stopped. I can’t fairly describe the book. The style is not like anything I am familiar with. But I really did enjoy the book. The narrator deserves an Academy Award!

Singer has a gift.
Revisado: 06-05-23
This is the second audiobook by Mr. Singer I have listened to. A breath of fresh air in the legal thriller field. I look forward to more. I don’t agree with the comments regarding use of religion. This wasn’t preachy. More so reflective of real life and genuine human emotions. An excellent mix of drama and human frailty, supplemented by grace and mercy. Very well done.

Historia
Martin Clark has been praised as "part John Grisham, part Hunter S.Thompson, and part sheer grit". Mason Hunt returns to his small Virginia hometown as the county's commonwealth attorney. Mason's brother Gates, who's currently serving a 20 year prison term, thinks Mason should have enough pull to set him free. And when Mason refuses, Gates hatches a plan to destroy his brother's life with a secret they both swore they'd take to the grave.

I need to remember this author, I enjoyed this book more than the last Grisham or Patterson. The sub-plots were individually interesting, not fillers.

Historia
For the members of SEAL Team Six, it was a rare mission ordered by the president, monitored in real time from the Situation Room. Houthi rebels in Yemen had captured an American journalist and a member of the Saudi royal family. Their executions were scheduled for Easter Sunday. The SEAL team were to break them out. But when the mission results in spectacular failure, the finger-pointing goes all the way to the top. Paige Chambers, a determined young lawyer, has a very personal reason for wanting to know the answer.

Will Robie escaped his small Gulf Coast hometown of Cantrell, Mississippi, after high school, severing all personal ties, and never looked back. Not once. Not until the unimaginable occurs. Unlike the missions Robie undertook in the service of his country, where his target was clearly defined, digging into his father's case only reveals more questions. Robie is drawn into the hidden underside of Cantrell, where he must face the unexpected and possibly deadly consequences of the long-ago choices made by father and son.

Any potentially good story is so slowly developed and almost painful to listen. I listened longer than I should have just hoping.......but alas it continued to drag.

The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

What a disappointent
Revisado: 11-10-14
What would have made Gray Mountain better?
I don't know Mr. Grisham, but what a disappointment this book is. The Ford Pinto and Erin Brockovich. 20 year old theories. Bad oil, bad coal, bad lawyers, and not an ounce of creativity. Better retire Mr. Gisham. This is old and you disappoint.

Has Gray Mountain turned you off from other books in this genre?
No in the genre, but I will be hard pressed to purchase another book by Mr. Grisham.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Adequate narration, but below the standard I would expect from a major, best selling author.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any additional comments?
Just seemed like a weak effort to sell a book with almost no originality.
