Being very tired of the traditional marketing / business books written and narrated by obnoxious smug hustlers, this is exactly the down-to-earth nuts and bolts book for regular people that I've been looking for all this time. Some of the examples are a bit outdated, and some advice may not apply so well anymore as the technology and social media landscape has changed quite a bit since the publication of the book, but all the basics still hold true. If Rob Walling ever publishes an updated and expanded version of this book, I will buy it without hesitation!

An ad for Success Magazine

I could not get through more than an hour of this self-satisfied douche bragging about his millions, retelling stories of casual child abuse, and doling out the most devastatingly basic "advice" dressed up in simplistic hypothetical examples of strawmen, in the style of a 5th grade math problem, to "prove" that his system works. In the first 20 minutes of the book, he's managed to innocently mention Success Magazine no less than four separate times - and whaddayaknow, he's the editor of said magazine. Once you remove all the product placement and self-congratulation, the remaining meat of the book is quite simply, "just have productive habits". And now that you have read these four words, you can skip this book entirely, for there lies no further wisdom or advice within its endless hours of smug rhetoric.
