Historia
On a summer evening in 1931, Lilly Blackwood glimpses circus lights from the grimy window of her attic bedroom. Lilly isn't allowed to explore the meadows around Blackwood Manor. She's never even ventured beyond her narrow room. Momma insists it's for Lilly's own protection, that people would be afraid if they saw her. But on this unforgettable night, Lilly is taken outside for the first time - and sold to the circus sideshow.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Enjoyable story that feels like a quick easy read. Character development that makes each more relatable . The ending brings all loose ends together.

Enjoyed very much. Reminds me of water for elephants. Performances good despite switching back and forth between characters. Would recommend.

After gentleman in Moscow
Revisado: 01-19-22
Not as good as a gentleman in Moscow, but an entertaining and compelling story. Slow moving at times with some long descriptions, but to some extent, it is the descriptions that make this authors books so good.
