Historia
Donald Trump will be president again, whether he is on the ballot or not. That is because Trumpism is overtaking the Republican Party and will mount a vigorous comeback, potentially in the hands of a savvier successor. This prophecy will come true, according to Miles Taylor, if we do not learn the lessons of the recent past. With the 2024 election approaching, the formerly “Anonymous” official is back with bombshell revelations and a sobering national forecast. Taylor predicts what could happen inside “Trump 2.0,” the White House of a more competent and more formidable copycat.

Scarier than a Stephen King novel. Insightful thoughts about a future MAGA presidency. I can’t stop listening yet it’s a nightmare story. Excellent

Historia
On their 50th anniversary comes a groundbreaking rock-and-roll memoir by one of the founding members of the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead are perhaps the most legendary American rock band of all time. For 30 years, beginning in the hippie scene of San Francisco in 1965, they were a musical institution, the original jam band that broke new ground in so many ways.

Historia
John Glatt tells the story of the Fillmores through the lives of Bill Graham, Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Carlos Santana, and an all-star supporting cast. Chronicling the East and West Coast cultures of the late 1960s and early 1970s-New York City with its speed, heroin, and the Velvet Underground versus San Francisco with the LSD-drenched Summer of Love - Glatt reveals how Graham made it all possible. But why did Graham shutter both Fillmores within weeks of each other in 1971, during the height of their popularity?

Historia
They were the last great band of the '60s and the first great band of the '70s. They rose, somewhat unpromisingly, from the ashes of the Yardbirds to become one of the biggest-selling rock bands of all time - and eventually paid the price for it, with disaster, drug addiction, and death.

Pretty good
Revisado: 04-26-14
Would you consider the audio edition of When Giants Walked the Earth to be better than the print version?
Only listened to the audio version. I'd like to see the book to review and make some notes.
Would you be willing to try another book from Mick Wall? Why or why not?
If the topic interested me.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
You bet. Some good behind the scenes information, recording info etc... I don't really care about the behavior that much. I want to know about the gear and inspiration for the songs, well the ones they did compose.
Any additional comments?
Mick Wall made dumb comments about Alice Cooper and got the Moby Grape release completely wrong.

The Beatles!
Revisado: 02-02-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Tune In to be better than the print version?
Yes. I drive truck and am in motion so much of each day, I have no alternative.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Tune In?
Getting a sense of what The Boys were dealing with at the beginning of what became Beatlemania.
Which character – as performed by Clive Mantle – was your favorite?
All of them. A remarkable job of trying to emulate each of the Beatles, including the two less well known, Stu & Pete.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I'm desperate for the following volumes - hurry please
Any additional comments?
Don't want to wait for the next volumes... ship me previews if you can :)

Would you consider the audio edition of Wild Tales to be better than the print version?
You bet! Hearing the voice makes a lot of difference. Same with the Pete Townshend book.
What other book might you compare Wild Tales to and why?
Who I Am - shines light behind the curtain
What does Graham Nash bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Hearing his voice, knowing when he was laughing or more intense is invaluable.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I also didn't want it to finish up.
Any additional comments?

Historia
Season of the Witch is the first book to fully capture the dark magic of San Francisco in this breathtaking period, when the city radically changed itself - and then revolutionized the world. The cool gray city of love was the epicenter of the 1960s cultural revolution. But by the early 1970s, San Francisco’s ecstatic experiment came crashing down from its starry heights. The city was rocked by savage murder sprees, mysterious terror campaigns, political assassinations, street riots, and finally a terrifying sexual epidemic.

Interesting Insights
Revisado: 07-15-12
What did you love best about Season of the Witch?
I liked the behind the scenes glimpses into what was going on in SF
Who was your favorite character and why?
Harvey Milk
What didn’t you like about Arthur Morey’s performance?
Good Grief! Doesn't anyone check the pronunciations of people's names, like Marty Balin? That is just lame and embarrassing. There were others as well..
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
pretty much
Any additional comments?
Audible should be more careful when there are so many errors with the pronunciations of people's names. Spoils the wonder of these marvelous books.

good book / disappointing reading

I'm fascinated with all the insight into the inner workings of American Politics. So sad. The disappointment is the frequent mispronunciation by this reader. Many of the names are slaughtered, but the story is captivating.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: When it comes to author/narrator pairings, nobody tops James Lee Burke and Will Patton in the Robicheaux thrillers. Beloved Burke hero Detective Dave Robicheaux here returns to New Iberia to solve a series of grisly murders. Seven young women in neighboring Jefferson Davis Parish have been brutally murdered. While the crimes have all the telltale signs of a serial killer, the death of Bernadette Latiolais, a high-school honor student, doesn’t fit.
