Historia
Stretched to his limit, Tamas is relying heavily on his few remaining powder mages, including the embittered Taniel, a brilliant marksman who also happens to be his estranged son, and Adamat, a retired police inspector whose loyalty is being tested by blackmail. But when gods are involved....Now, as attacks batter them from within and without, the credulous are whispering about omens of death and destruction. Just old peasant legends about the gods waking to walk the earth. No modern educated man believes that sort of thing. But they should....

Chaotic, cheesy, tripe.
Revisado: 02-02-23
Powder mage? Really? Black powder somehow has the ability to set certain mages on a cocaine high and they are able to manipulate black powder exclusively. In spite of these seemingly common mages, soldiers just walk around with powder horns and get blown up easily. Plot armor abounds, corny explanation insets abound, frivolous over use of inexplicable magics abound. Just an overall poor story.

Historia
The word mythology is derived from the Greek words mythos, which means story, and logos, which means speech. Myth is a folklore genre consisting of narratives that play a fundamental role in society, such as foundational tales or origin myths. Some of the oldest narratives in world history come from Babylon mythology.

I’m unsure if this was a person or an AI. This was the single most awful narration I’ve heard in any audiobook. Do not buy this book

Shoddy writing
Revisado: 09-07-21
I regret purchasing this book. The writing is shoddy. For example,
Right at the start, the main character and his legion is made aware that they are going into an ambush. The leader attempts to relinquish command and is incredibly dismissive of the fact that he is about to die. Essentially dismisses his army. They stay and fight of course… it isn’t believable in the least.
Then in the next chapter there is an elf that is some 800 years old. She encounters a human cleric early in the book and the human uses the term “brother” to refer to another cleric. The 800 year old elf is perplexed by the usage of the term “brother” despite having lived with humans for 800 years - also the human is confused at how this woman could have known the founder of his order (as that would have been some 800 years ago) despite being fully aware of the fact that elves live for thousands of years.
The forced story telling makes it impossible to suspend reality.

Historia
Five survivors find themselves on the planet Anyar, including Joseph Colsco, Mark Caldwell, and Heather Chen. Some others have different destinations. Cast away on a planet with bizarre physical features unlike anything on Earth, Dan and Liza Oglethorpe will never again set foot on Earth. They will never again talk with family and friends. They will never again see an ocean. They are thrust into a fantastical fate that eventually leads them, six years later, after dangers are overcome and a measure of peace is achieved, to a morning in a dry valley on an alien planet.

Very very very short.

Hardly related to the overall story - and only a few hours long. Not worth the credit tbh, and that’s disappointing as this is one of my all time favorite series.

When The Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus - the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination - is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult, he languishes for decades before finally escaping. Once free, he must retrieve the three “tools” that will restore his power and help him to rebuild his dominion, which has deteriorated in his absence.

Difficult to listen to
Revisado: 01-22-21
This is like a cheap daytime drama running in the opposite room. It’s cheesy, loud, obnoxiously overacted, and not worth your time.
It’s a shame because I love the sandman comics and sandman universe. The story is there, but it just doesn’t accomplish what it sets out to do.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

I really wanted to like this - and almost did until the author beat a dead horse with his “most people wont like this story” monologue.

Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Not a fan of the narration, great story as always.
Revisado: 01-02-18
The parts of the story not spoken by the main character were made to sound ridiculous. The characters that are supposed to be intimidating, awe-inspiring, or mysterious had inexplicably juvenile or unbelievably bovine accents. Tim Robbins (contrary to multiple reviews) was not a good narrator IMO
