Not sure if this was steamy or not because I didn’t get past monsters night. Didn’t love the story or the readers. Kind of slow moving and confusing keeping track of the different voices/names etc.

I’m not a damsel in distress fan & definitely not a fan when that role is played by the heroine. Everyone needs help, but the FL spent just about the entire novel getting herself into scrapes she couldn’t get herself out of. The lack of chemistry between the leads is boring & the dialog became redundant. It was grade school level, knock the stuff off the desk of the person you like b/c you don’t know yourself at all kind of stuff until the bar scene. I prefer ML’s that are nice to their love interest, not neglectful jerks who celebrate getting their partner fired/kicked off the team/kicked out of her home by getting busy with random chicks in bars so the FL lead sees. The story line eventually trickles out, but it’s not enough to keep the book interesting. Nope. Not for me.

Too much repetition

We get it. He wants to top her, she doesn't want to be topped. Everyone vying to be the biggest boss. All that fight for 'control' isn't really my thing & the repetitive conversations around it just made the little bit of steaminess painful to get to. I guess if you gave wolves human brains maybe that is what would come of it, but for my entertainment it's a no go.

Might be one of those books better off read than listened to. The male narrator was painful to listen too. There is another review that said he was "too passionate" and I think that is a good way to put it. He pauses for too long between sentences and tries to make everything a 10 on the sultry scale but not everything can or should be a 10. I also didn't like the self deprecating inner voice on Thomas. If I was reading it I could skip over those parts and spare myself the annoyance. Needless to say I didn't get far before asking for my credit back.

An Unexpected Surprise

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel. The heroine was clever and adventurous and there was very little of that typical overbearing maleness that she "falls in love with anyway" as seen in an endless supply of other novels. Grateful for the lack of it! Their chemistry is great and so steamy. Without giving anything away, I wish it hadn't ended so abruptly and the title felt... off?? There were numerous occasions where I laughed out loud. Definitely worth the credit and would absolutely listen to more from this author.

Enjoyed how the author turned the Fairytales on their heads for a different point of view. Very entertaining! Sometimes it was difficult to keep up with the characters as the narrator sounded a little similar at times but all in all I was really well done and enjoyed it very much.

Shouldn't have tried to keep this to a trilogy.

Loved the 1st book. Really enjoyed the 2nd book and the way the main character was developed. Should have let it'd be a series instead of trying to keep it to a trilogy. There's too much plot to try to wrap up in a tidy little bow. Story felt forced and was childish in the relationships and the battles. I was really disappointed. Narrator did a good job with what she was given.

The first book in the series was really good and this one lacked the banter and humor I enjoyed. The plot never seemed to go anywhere. I found it very boring. The main characters went through the same argument over and over again and the ending seemed lazy. The little girls voices were weird and creepy I didn’t like them at all. I returned it and used the credit to start a different series.

The reader didn’t do a great job on the voices and the book itself wasn’t that great either. I like the way they portrayed the Dutches as not needing saving but more action portraying that and less coming right out and saying it would have been better. Glad the writer didn’t give in on the ending. Only reason I gave it 3 stars.

So boring

Description leads buyer to believe the story is centered around one character, but far too much time is spent around Gemma (sp?) and chess making the story slllooooowww. Returned the book 1/2 way through to get something else.
