What a great story! So many times people focus on sight that it actually makes you blind. This story was based on a couple trapped in an elevator for an extended period of time. Even though things escalated it just seemed right, like a natural progression of events. Laura Kaye this was such a "touching" story in every way possible. Caden was so strong to the eye and yet seemed so much more gentle on the inside. Getting to know him was a heart breaking journey that made you love his character that much more. And Red had insecurities I think all of us have in life. But turn the lights out and the field was somewhat level. Just loved this story. I've already written their happily ever after in my head!

Don't bother!

I hope I can get a refund! This was one of the dumbest books I've ever wasted time on. I kept thinking it would get better or at the very least they would say why she was kidnapped in the first place. Spoiler alert....this book was so random and skipped so much time and detail. I don't think writing is this author's day job! I should have stopped listening as soon as he kidnapped her but I was being generous and patient with the story. This woman is more than weak. She is so compliant, she gives into her captor for the moment he kidnaps and rapes her and she is like oh well this is my life now, might as well have an orgasm and go along with it! The story skips months of dialogue, leaves you with half scenes, doesn't explain any details, introduces random characters and never says why and then she gets pregnant the end. WTF? The whole book was a waste of time, a waste of a credit and hurt my brain. Skip this one. The sex wasn't even good. It was all just a jumbled mess.

Fun listen

Chey and Sam are great. Loved listening to their story. It wasn't especially deep but their was a descent plot. I'm sure this will be a great series. Perfect for a light listen if that's what you're looking for.

A little torn

This book was definitely steamy and that part of the story gets five stars! I couldn't put this book down, I wanted to know what her big secret was. Once I found out I was a bit disappointed she hadn't confided in Diar sooner. The whole story is resolved in the last few minutes and that was that. Jason Clarke is phenomenal! He is always one of my favorite narrators and his tone carried you through the story perfectly. You felt invested because he was so relatable. Iris is crazy and wild and reckless and yes too young for Dair. She lures him in and he can't stop himself. Favorite parts include her interactions with Dair's ex-wife and her carefree, intelligent attitude. Her retorts to Dair are perfect and intellectual making her seem older. Overall this was a great listen, just wish she had been a bit older. Guess I struggle with it like Dair does.

So lame

Do not waste a credit. Any self-respecting listener of audiobooks will find this story undeveloped, trite, lame and so unrealistic. Don't get me wrong I can deal with unrealistic and trying to see past a lack of detail but this story jumps from no relationship to I love you in six hours. The narration was not good. The character voices were child like and made the story even more uncomfortable. If I could give this book negative stars I would! Just don't waste your time or credit!

Damn, this is a great book. The audio was done so very well!! The story is heartfelt, sexy, tender....I could go on but just buy the book! You will not be disappointed!

Odd at best

Full disclosure, I can't finish this book. I get the premise of older men looking for sex without strings, preferring a younger woman, wanting the fantasy. But this story was uncomfortable. Filled with people in relationships having sex outside of their relationship pretending like it was all ok was just wrong. Noire, a college senior, sounded like a 12 year old and one of the men talks about how he found he attractive as young as 14. The whole story was just uncomfortable not really sexy. I know Klein wrote the story and narrated it and he has an attractive voice but in this story he just sounds like a creepy old man. Sorry, just not what I expected.

Pack your patience

This was pretty good. The story was a bit longer than it needed to be. I know this is the base and beginning of the Stronghold series so I understand the need for the "extra" detail. The couple meets under false pretense and struggles with trust issues early on. Then throw in a few misunderstandings and lack of communication and the story is underway. The author seemed to fall a bit short on the emotion in this book for me. I never really got worked up over Adam and Angel's love story. It just seemed kind of average for me. There are A LOT of characters so there is the possibility that one of the other books will spark more heat but investing sooooo many hours really sets a bar for me when I'm reading a story. When you invest 15 hours you want to finish the book with a big case of the "feels" but I feel like this book concluded more like...."and then they went to work on Monday, the end"

Wow, truly no heart

This is a graphic story of a drug kingpin. I gave it five stars because it was well written and thought out. I won't give any spoilers but when it was over I felt like a needed a shower to wash all the dirty off. Matteo is calculating, evil and an asshole. Elena is convinced she is born to be the way she ends up. Their passion was intense, her friendships with Peyton and Melody were admirable and their dedication to each other was refreshing. But good gosh that ending had me seeing stars! Should have been one book not three books. It was a bit hard to follow because there was the game, real life, so many characters, so much manipulation and a lot of disturbing body disposal.

It's never too late to live happily ever after!

This story was a great read. There was always more to learn around the corner. The characters were well developed and narration was on point. The love story was so heartfelt between them. Brianna's spirit makes the book even better. We could all use a guardian angel (I mean witch) like her! I was in tears a couple different times because Fiore really broke my heart describing all these two had endured as children. The description of Scotland made me feel like I was going to look out my window and see the beautiful landscape. The book had heated sexual scenes but they were more sensual because of the chemistry between the characters. I really enjoyed listening to this book from the first word to the last. It was definitely worth a credit.
