Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Great Read!

A friend recommended this book to me. She is friends with the author. I grew up in the area and still have family there.
I loved the book and immediately made a connection with the characters. Due to the time period and setting, it was a bit uncomfortable at first. It drew me in quickly and I had a hard time putting it down. So glad because it will be one that I will always remember.
The narrator was perfect! I thoroughly enjoyed her delivery of the book.
I have already recommended it to several friends and look forward to more books from this author.

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.
