Historia
Now a number-one international best seller, Billion Dollar Whale is "an epic tale of white-collar crime on a global scale" (Publishers Weekly), revealing how a young social climber from Malaysia pulled off one of the biggest heists in history. In 2009, a chubby, mild-mannered graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business named Jho Low set in motion a fraud of unprecedented gall and magnitude—one that would come to symbolize the next great threat to the global financial system.

Fascinating Story
Revisado: 04-07-20
The story was engrossing and it was well narrated. I was expecting more detail into transactions on the money flow, but it still had sufficient facts and data. It would be interesting if an update could be provided in the next year with details on developments since the new government took the reigns in Malaysia that was noted at the Cary end of the book.

Are you tired of feeling f*cked up? If you are, Gary John Bishop has the answer. In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf--ked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f--king miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

Camel back content
Revisado: 06-08-18
This was an excellent book overall. The only problem that I had with it, was it was very strong at the beginning, but kind of repetitive and slow in the middle, and then had a very strong finish. There are lots of action steps that you can put in place immediately, and great advice referencing timeless scholars that you can use to guide your future success. The narration was top notch!

A more appropriate title would be “Structure and ideas on how to run an efficient business.” I didn’t find any nuggets on franchising, growing, scaling, or selling. Lots of systemizing, and that content was well structured.

Historia
This is the first volume of distinguished historian Dumas Malone's Pulitzer Prize-winning six-volume work on the life and times of Thomas Jefferson. Based on a myriad of sources, it covers Jefferson's ancestry, youth, education, and legal career; his marriage and the building of Monticello; the drafting of the Declaration of Independence and the Notes on Virginia; his rich, fruitful legislative career; his highly controversial governorship; and his early services to the development of the West.

Deep and Complete
Revisado: 05-30-07
How can an audio book this long be interesting? That was the question Mr. Malone answered through deep and complete treatment of Thomas Jefferson as a Virginian, leading up to the time of the Declaration. The thoughtful background and treatment of TJ's role in the government of Virginia is fascinating. If you have a passion for learning all you can about these times in our history, I have not heard any better than Mr. Malone. On to volume 2!

In 1990, IBM had its most profitable year ever. By 1993, the company was on a watch list for extinction, victimized by its own lumbering size, an insular corporate culture, and the PC era IBM had itself helped invent.

Deflated
Revisado: 12-27-05
I was unexpectedly disappointed by this book. After reading the glowing reviews from others, I expected an inspiring, insightful review of the amazing things done at IBM in one of the most remarkable turn-arounds ever -- my hopes were deflated. What I got out of this was a combination of kind words for those long time IBMers who helped, and advertising for IBM's positioning for future stock growth. Mr. York's role in achieving the turn around was grossly under-promoted, as few of the structural cost improvements would have been achieved without him, and there was little insight shared on how Mr. Gerstner came to determine the specific changes that were made. Further, the last third of the book is spent delivering Mr. Gerstner's political perspective on everything from schools to charitable contributions. Not a recommended read.

Introduction looking for content
Revisado: 05-11-03
Simply put, this book's content is strictly marketing the importance of six sigma without ever getting to the content. It read like the advertising for the next Ronco device and never gave any useful information for driving improvement or change.
