Great Story W/Many Layers
Revisado: 12-29-24
Narrators voice is perfect for this. She can go from sexy, to sultry, to manly.
The story has many twists and turns. Part romance, part thriller, part mystery, and part serial killer.

Historia
Celeste Price is an eighth-grade English teacher in suburban Tampa. But Celeste's devotion lies elsewhere. She has a singular sexual obsession: 14-year-old boys. In slaking her sexual thirst, Celeste Price is remorseless and deviously free of hesitation, a monstress driven by pure motivation. She deceives everyone, and cares nothing for anyone or anything but her own pleasure. With crackling, rampantly unadulterated prose, Tampa is a grand, uncompromising, seriocomic examination of want and a scorching literary debut.

Excellent character development, slow burn and intense story. The author has such a way with words. Narrator is spot on too.

Narrator Ruined it
Revisado: 03-31-24
I have zero clue what the story is about because the narrator is incapable of changing her/his inflection when jumping from character to character. It’s like listening to a human trying to narrate like virtual voice.
What a shame.

Historia
This haunting yet wry coming-of-age memoir set at an all-girls summer camp fast-forwards decades into the future as Barbara Graham grapples with the knowledge that the "love affair" she believed she'd shared with her female camp counselor in the 1960s fits every definition of sexual abuse. The book will appeal to anyone who has experienced a betrayal of trust or conflated love and abuse.

From Victim to Survivor to Overcoming
Revisado: 03-29-24
Powerful novel about a 14 year old Female who was groomed, and taken advantage of by a much older woman.
After decades of shame and the inability to internalize the trauma, the author describes how she was able to not only come to terms with what happened, but also overcome her trauma.
The narrator does a fabulous job.

Historia
Throughout her childhood and adolescence, the anonymous author of The Incest Diary was raped by her father. Beneath a veneer of normal family life, she grew up in and around this all-encompassing secret. Her sexual relationship with her father lasted, off and on, into her 20s. It formed her world, and it formed her deepest fears and desires.

Deeply Moving
Revisado: 03-04-24
I cannot fathom or understand how the author got through the horrors her family did to her. I pray she’s at peace wherever she is.
Absolutely heartbreaking read. Narrator is perfect for this true story.
Her story is very, very graphic, and honest, and self deprecating, horrifying, and intense. I didn’t notice until afterwards my teeth were clenched.
I’ve never felt this way after a book. I hope I don’t ever feel this way again.
I want to thank the author for her sharing, and again hope she is at peace.

Tired Tropes Similar to stephen king
Revisado: 01-26-24
The authors other book head like a hole is fantastic! This one not so much. It reads like a sk fanboy story.
Evil White racist? Absolutely!
Small mostly ignorant town? Sure!
Evil entity easily defeated? Yeah.
Then you have way too many on the nose points like the name Zelda. There’s more but I’m not going into it.
The author has skill but this book doesn’t show it. If you like sk you will probably like this book. I’ve lost all interest in sk after he forced his idiot politics into every story. No thanks.
The narrator was good. Story…no.

Brilliant And Fun Ride
Revisado: 08-21-23
What did I like: Character development. Interesting characters. Several story lines colliding towards one. Action! Bloody! Brutal! Monsters.
Who would I recommend to: People who enjoy demented scientists. Police procedures with a touch of Lovecraft, a lot of horror, developed characters, and hectic scenarios.
Why I gave 5 stars: Wonderful narration, engrossing and engaging story, and no woke nonsense.

I can’t stand a whiny
Revisado: 05-10-23
Protagonist. The husband just whines, cries, and is a wimp. I won’t share the story, there’s enough of those reviews. I will share what made me lose all interest. The Husband is a whimpering simp with zero self confidence. If this type of character doesn’t bother you, and the story sounds intriguing then you should buy it.
