Uninspired
Revisado: 03-03-23
Didn’t evoke any particular feeling. Seemed contrived and undeveloped. Writing and reading seemed like it was just checking off boxes.

Historia
The members of the Polaris Project knew what they were giving up when they volunteered to fly to the star named Angel-21, but the allure of being the first explorers to leave the Solar System far outweighed the risks. As it turned out, the most dangerous thing they faced wasn't the mission, it was the homecoming. Eight hundred years have passed, and Earth is nothing like they thought it would be.

Historia
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Not really about time travel
Revisado: 02-09-23
Time travel unexplained, just a mechanism to get character to what is essentially a primitive world. Survival and conflict tale. Kept hoping something else would happen but it didn’t, frustrating.

Historia
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Good spaceship coming of war story
Revisado: 12-22-22
Very well performed. Reader really seemed to get the story, not just reading a bunch of words like some readers. Story is a refreshing spaceship tale. Author has amazing ability to make the technical description and details seem real. Just the right mix of slow and fast.

Historia
Until the Confederation created Allora, it had produced SADEs (self-aware digital entities) for hundreds of years with enormous consistency and harnessed their capabilities to power the society. But this particular young SADE was disturbed by her confinement. Trapped in metal-alloy housing on the bridge of a luxury passenger liner, Allora sought to possess the same freedom enjoyed by humans, who came and went from her starship with abandon.

True Science fiction not just battle in space
Revisado: 12-02-22
Excellent story about sentient computers and their quest for freedom through negotiation and collaboration rather than a war between them and biological beings. Addresses several repercussions. A refreshing change.

Like a smaller and much scruffier Greta Garbo - finally - Markham speaks! It's Christmas and time for the first (and almost certainly last) St Mary's Annual Children's Christmas Party - attendance compulsory, by order of Dr Bairstow. Discovered practising his illegal reindeer dance and poo-dropping routine, our hero, along with fellow disaster magnets Peterson and Maxwell, is dispatched to Anglo-Saxon England to discover the truth about Alfred and the cakes.

Historia
No one knows where the Tufa came from or how they ended up in the mountains of east Tennessee. When the first Europeans came to the Smoky Mountains, the Tufa were already there. Dark-haired and enigmatic, they live quietly in the hills and valleys of Cloud County, their origins lost to history. But there are clues in their music, hidden in the songs they have passed down for generations.

Poor writing dull and out of place smut
Revisado: 09-10-22
Characters start to be developed but so slow and lacking in any action or thoughtful introspection. Also includes out of place smut. Reads like what it seems to be, a man’s fantasy about a woman. Very disappointing.

Tedious
Revisado: 09-08-22
Long winded and tedious, not Orson Scott Card’s best. I would have stopped listening but I wanted to finish the series. The reader has an odd staccato way of reading that is hard to listen to and makes the limited action dull and stilted.

Historia
What if I told you that there are two lost chapters to the famous Think and Grow Rich? And what if I told you that those two lost chapters reveal the missing secret to getting anything and everything you’ve ever wanted...and much, much more? There is a reason this information was hidden from the mass public. It is because it was too powerful for the common man and woman to know. Times have changed. Not only are people ready to see this missing secret but they are much better equipped to use this power to change the trajectory of their lives.

Very questionable and suspect
Revisado: 08-26-22
I believe this is an inauthentic grab for profit by claiming to have lost chapters of Napoleon Hill. No methods were employed to authenticate these supposed chapters, and there are several linguistic and dating methods that are regularly used to determine forgeries. No validation attempts are mentioned.
Ethics and sound business practices are not mentioned. It reads like a shallow restatement of some points from think and grow rich. You are better off with the original.
I would give this a minus score if possible.
Research the history and business practices of the author. What are the “unconventional” business practices? This is highly suspect.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

Good light fantasy

Narration tone definitely makes it more like a children’s story than it needs to be, but that makes it more of a lark. Worth a listen.
