This is a very good book. But parents beware it has some pretty graphic stuff on molestation and child abuse. My 11 year old said it was one of the best books he read and scored 100% on his AR test. I listened along with him and was pretty set back by the molestation of his sister by her father and not wanting to go on with the book. The author does try to approach it in a manner that has tact for older elementary children but I would not recommend for younger children. Our school has it as 4th grade level. My opinion would be more of 7th/8th grade level. But that is only me. As I said my 11 year old said it was one of the best books he has ever read and he aced the AR it is up to you, but I suggest the parent listens to it first.

Easy read for my 10 year old. He enjoyed it and passed the AR test with flying colors!!! Highly recommend!!! Although the ending may be a little sad for very young readers. Overall a great book and narration!!!

This is a very good book. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the fact that as far as a child is concerned, it kind of missed the point with my 11 year old. He was not sure of the whole concept of the book and failed the AR test on it. In the end he was not sure of what the book was really about. I would recommend this book for advanced readers in elementary school. Our school has it as a 5th grade level. I personally think it should be Middle School Level.

A great book for my son and myself
Revisado: 04-09-11
My son really enjoyed this book. He is 11. The only conplaint he had was the narrator was a little slow in reading. I think it was necessary for the full comprehension of the foreign language that is introduced in phrases, names and places from Mexico. Overall a real good book.
