Historia
Nearly everything the American public has seen, read, and heard in the media for nearly 80 years about the so-called Amelia Earhart mystery is intentionally false or inadvertently misleading. The widely accepted myth that the disappearance of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan during their ill-fated world-flight attempt in July 1937 is among the greatest aviation mysteries of the 20th century is an abject lie, the result of decades of government propaganda that continues unabated to this day.

Narrator mispronounces Tinian Island
Revisado: 09-04-23
Bill Hemberger repeatedly mispronounced the name of Tinian Island as "TeeNeeNahn", from which Earnhardt embarked. Tinian Island later became famous as the location where the Hiroshima atomic bomb was mounted aboard the B-29 Enola Gay. How could publishers of this important story allow this poor narration to pass review?

Firsthand accounts from Japanese WW II soldiers, sailors, and pilots who fought in the battle for Iwo Jima and survived. Some were evacuated before the Marines landed, and others were taken as prisoners of war. The Japanese army and navy combatants are given a voice to share their experiences in the battle that coined the phrase "uncommon valor was a common virtue".

Breathless narrator ruins the story
Revisado: 05-02-23
I absolutely hate the breathless delivery style of this narrator. Pappy Boyington didn't speak like this; there are actual recordings of him during WWII. It ruined my experience of listening to the story because this delivery is so distracting.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

German fighter pilot escorts crippled B-17 to safe
Revisado: 01-20-23
My favorite WWII documentary. A German fighter pilot closed in from the rear to finish a stricken B-17 bomber that had just bombed Germany. Instead of shooting down the bomber, the German Ace escorted the bomber past German shore batteries and released it to fly home to England. Very moving story.

Historia
From August 7th 1942 until February 24th 1944, the US Navy fought the most difficult campaign in its history. Between the landing of the 1st Marine Division on Guadalcanal and the final withdrawal of the Imperial Japanese Navy from its main South Pacific base at Rabaul, the US Navy suffered such high personnel losses that for years it refused to publicly release total casualty figures.

Soon after arriving in Italy, he notices a small, scruffy, self-assured dog trotting alongside a canal with the confidence he so desperately wants for himself. This street dog and his instincts for survival lend Paul’s trip a singular purpose.

More than a million listeners have thrilled to Bill O'Reilly's Killing Lincoln, the can't-stop-listening work of nonfiction about the shocking assassination that changed the course of American history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts in gripping detail the brutal murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy—and how a sequence of gunshots on a Dallas afternoon not only killed a beloved president but also sent the nation into the cataclysmic division of the Vietnam War and its culture-changing aftermath.

NEGLIGENT: Oswald-Alone has been debunked.
Revisado: 09-29-20
I have long been a big fan of Bill O'Reilly and his "Killing Series" documentary novels. No more. The JFK assassination had a strong impact on me as a 7-year-old, and I've done much research on it as an adult. I have visited the Book Depository Museum, seen the "sniper's nest" (there were trees between the windows and street even then), walked around Dealey Plaza for hours; Grassy Knoll, Picket Fence, railroad overpass, Zapruder's pedestal, curbside where JFK was shot. Jim Garrison was right; the first shot to his throat came from the front, as did the kill shot from the Grassy Knoll front right. Not according to O'Reilly! Oswald fired 3 shots from the rear, using a cheap Italian rifle with a bad scope, and that's the end of it. The leading sniper in Viet Nam, Carlos Hathcock, could not replicate Oswald's shots when attempted in a scale mockup with Oswald's rifle, even though Oswald was a lousy shot while in the Marines; he barely qualified as a rifleman, let alone a sharpshooter.

I miss his voice in Congress.
Revisado: 08-30-20
He speaks from the heart; sometimes with strong but emotional voice. He tells of his transition from being terrified of public speaking in a courtroom, to being eager to start talking. How he was afraid of TV cameras, and stared at his shoes during a Meghan Kelly interview. He’s now the greatest orator I’ve seen in decades, yet he shares the challenges to develop that skill. If you’re a brilliant introvert, read this.

The woods and forests can be a true dichotomy of experiences. For many they offer a peaceful connection to nature, but for some they have been a source of terror. In the shadows of towering trees and hidden in the brush, these unlucky few have encountered creatures or monsters that most think only inhabit our nightmares. Steve Stockton, a veteran outdoorsman and paranormal researcher, has put together a vast collection of over eighty terrifying, odd and strange encounters. These chilling tales may leave you questioning whether you ever want to journey into the woods again.

Historia
From June 1967 to June 1968, Tom Johnson accumulated an astonishing 1,600 flying hours piloting the UH-1 "Iroquois" - better known as the "Huey" - as part of the famous First Air Cavalry Division. His battalion was one of the most decorated units of the Vietnam War, and helped redefine modern warfare. Johnson's riveting memoir takes us into key battles and rescue missions, including those for Hue and Khe Sanh. In harrowing detail, he tells of being shot down in the battle of A Shau Valley, of surviving enemy attacks during the Tet Offensive, and of a death-defying nighttime river rescue.

Pure drudgery listening to radio call signs
Revisado: 07-18-20
The author proves that just because you're an accomplished chopper pilot doesn't mean you can write about it well. He starts with reciting the endless unit citation awards, then tries to carry the story with over-the-top call sign radio chatter. I returned this about 30 minutes into it.
