My problem is the narrator’s performance for the Dark Plains characters. They all sound like whiny psychotics and nothing remotely like what we are used to.
Most of these characters are dragons. DRAGONS. Not cranky children. Geez.

Would you consider the audio edition of Hot and Badgered to be better than the print version?
I don’t.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I couldn’t get past the abysmal performance to choose. I’m going to pull out my copy of the book and READ it. Hopefully, it will remove this travesty from my brain.
How could the performance have been better?
OMG! Uncle Van and Irene are from Seattle! Why do the have New York accents! The same with Ulrich van Holtz. Big tough characters have whiny voices. People who grew up in the States have horrible accents from Russia (Bo Novikov) and Ireland (Barbara Feeney-Malone). The southern accents don’t even resemble ANYONE from the south, add whiny to that and it just gets worse. Cella Malone is a Long Island girl and her accent was just flat. 😭
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No! I had to keep turning it off. Then I started surfing the net so I didn’t pay too much attention to the horrible performance.
Any additional comments?
Your company needs to do better research when planning the cast. Especially with a well-established author whose works are tied together.
This may be the first book in a new series, but it’s an off shoot of The Pride series with some well loved characters.

What would have made On Comet better?
A better story. Better narration.

Choppy, poor character representation.

The story was not very well-written and the narration made it worse.
