Historia
Things have gone bad among the colonies. Insurgents are building alien-hybrid armies and planet-killing weapons, threatening to upend the fragile balance of power in Province 921. There's not only trouble in the province—the Core Worlds are igniting as well. The Mogwa have asserted claims upon the Imperial Throne, causing their rivals to move against them. Earth's Hegemony and the rebels are pulled into a conflict that could tear the galaxy apart.

To many of James encounters. It just got to be to much.
Revisado: 03-29-25
I have all of BV Larson's book and this was the first one I couldn't finish. Halfway through I put on another book to listen to. Everything else was great. Not a bad story but enough is enough. Really I feel it was a waste of my money. I'm thinking of returning it. First time. He's my favorite author. Disappointed

To much sex....
Revisado: 12-02-22
I tried to finish for the story but the sex just wasn't what I want in the kind of books I like. Just to heavy on the sex. Frankly it just took away from the overall story.

Historia
Every modern city has one week’s worth of food to feed itself. Then it will collapse. Cut off the resources to New York, Sydney, or even a mid-size metropolis, and millions will soon starve. In Zero Day Code we see those immense and open, hyper-complex, networked supercities of the new millennium die. And in the last moments we see their vengeance take form as all the best and worst traits of humanity bubble to the surface.

Constant filthy language
Revisado: 10-18-22
I couldn't get through the third chapter. 99% of the book is filthy language. There are more creative interesting language to describe something but I guess the filthy language takes up space. Returning the book and won't try another of Birmingham 's book.

Historia
There’s an apocryphal story that Alexander the Great once captured a notorious pirate named Diomedes. The great conqueror decided to interview the doomed pirate, asking him what he thought gave him the right to seize the property of other people. The pirate responded by asking the emperor what he thought gave him the right to take property that doesn’t belong to him, including entire countries. The story goes that Alexander thought the pirate very clever, granting him freedom instead of execution.

Voice needs an oiling.
Revisado: 05-22-22
I usually don't give reviews BUT, I'm having a very hard time listening to this book. I WANT to listen to it because I'm interested and I'm enjoying the subject. Overall the professor does a good job. She reads in a very nice voice. ALL OF A SUDDEN her voice goes into a high shrill. If she gets a little excited she speeds up and squeaks along with the shrieking. Very irritating. Maybe a speaking lesson or two would fix the issue. I'm trying to finish listening.

To much filthy badgering
Revisado: 04-26-22
Filthy badgering gets very old real fast. I had to end it. Couldn't take it any longer. Clean it up and maybe I'll be able to finish the book because I enjoyed the book otherwise.

Whew
Revisado: 12-30-16
Whew glad this is over. I wanted to scream at times at the whining and repeating over and over again the whining. I must admit I had to get up and leave the audio running so that I'd hopefully miss it. Finally it's over. I don't know why I'm giving it two stars.

Historia
Erik Cain joined the marines to get off death row. The deal was simple; enlist to fight in space and he would be pardoned for all his crimes. In the 23rd Century, assault troops go to war wearing AI-assisted, nuclear-powered armor, but it is still men and blood that win battles. From one brutal campaign to the next, Erik and his comrades fight an increasingly desperate war over the resource rich colony worlds that have become vital to the economies of Earth's exhausted and despotic Superpowers.

Narration is awful
Revisado: 06-25-16
I forced myself to get through about half the book. It was hard to do. Do you remember reading a book to a child or having someone read to you when you where small? I think you have the picture. It drove me nuts. I can't give any stars for the book because I found that none of the story really stuck with me. The star is for the narrative. I would have given zero.

Terrible Narration
Revisado: 06-25-16
I felt like I was being read to by a parent or grandparent or something. It was driving me crazy. I listened as far as I could and found I knew nothing about the story line. Have to close it and I'd buy it if Jay Allen changes his narrator. Checking every book I purchase.

Badly done.
Revisado: 05-08-16
I'm a long time crocheter and I thought I would just check this out as it may be nice to listen to the crochet patterns but this book won't even cooperate. I can't get it to go to the proper chapter that I want also not one picture. All crocheter's want and need a picture of what they are doing. Stitches or item. The book doesn't open to one page. Just audio. The audio was all over the place. Poorly done. I thought I was buying a book. I was expecting to turn a page. Waste of my time and my money. Disappointed.
