Sad ending but wonderful conclusion to series
Revisado: 10-17-24
A moving series of three books. While I didn’t like the ending it did fit with the era of time in the book. The reader was AWESOME!! She did a wonderful job of switching up the voices and giving each character their own voice.

Historia
In the late 1800s, a new disease arrived in North America from Europe and began to claim the lives of children everywhere. Though most today have never even heard of this illness, it would routinely kill over 10,000 children in a single year - more than the polio might take in an entire decade. After much trial and tribulation, a shot was developed that helped both those already afflicted with the illness, and those who might one day become infected. But the shot was dangerous, and many parents refused it for their children.

I have long thought Autism was somehow related to vaccines. And it makes sense when you inject a substance into a new baby. As someone who works closely with children - the Autism rates have an increased significantly. A must read for all parents and those thinking of becoming parents!

Action packed!
Revisado: 07-24-24
Action packed and well written! Hardest part is when the reader uses his female interpretation takes some getting used to in order to picture how the character is written versus how she is portrayed by the voice. Still a great read!

Revisado: 07-24-24
Kristin Hannah has done it again!! What an incredible story of the harsh reality of those women who served in Vietnam. I had no idea and my eyes were really opened to true heroes. This is a must read and recommend following up with her sources at the end of the book.

After high school she attended nursing school and then did something that would shatter her secure world for the rest of her life: in 1969, she joined the army and was shipped to Vietnam. When she arrived in Vietnam her idealistic view of the war vanished quickly. She worked long hours in cramped, ill-equipped, understaffed operating rooms. She saw friends die.

Excellent

Lynda wrote a captivating recount of her time in Vietnam and upon returning home. It was a truthful and vulnerable telling of her experiences. It was page turning and you were rooting for her throughout the book. Highly recommend!
