the narration was done very well, but there are times where the reading was too excited and forceful. not a lot, and through most of it, the narrator did a fine job

Every single character was completely unlikable, every interaction was unbelievable, and there's no way to get into the story because the author goes out of his way to try and make the main character witty, sarcastic and funny with every single word out of his mouth, but at no point is he anything but an annoying creep. I'm surprised I made to chapter 8. This book was advertised as Hary Dresden meets the Witcher. It's actually more like officer Farva from Supertroopers meets every 1990's horror cliche.

It's a well written, entertaining story with good characters and all. My only complaint would be that the humor becomes too excessive and often, done at times that don't seem realistic to the situation. They're good, but out of place at times which takes away from the moment, much like the last Thor movie.

If the writing could pump the brakes a bit when events get serious, it would be more captivating rather than trying to be Ace Ventura playing Van Helsing. Other than that it's a great read.

Another solid addition to the Monster Hunter series. I got so into it, I was surprised when it was at the end.

The story kept me interested all the way to the end where I wound up finishing it in 2 days while doing outside projects. the characters were well done, and storyline was very well formed and exciting. There were no parts of this book that were a boring or felt like a struggle to endure just to get back to the good stuff.

The story was light hearted and whimsical but with a well developed plot and good characters. very well thought out. I'd say the only hangup I had with it is the technical reading of the stats, but I understand this is litrpg, so it comes with the territory.

Another imaginative and entertaining story by Simon R. Green. Like his Tales of the Nightside series, this dark fantasy is unique and very well written.

The book starts out great. entertaining, funny, a really good read and Nathan Fillions performance is top notch. But from about half way through to the end it becomes a slow drag to the eventual finish line. It stops being an adventure novel and becomes a philosophy and psychology paper.

I felt less entertained and more like I was trying to finish a reading assignment for a class I didn't sign up for. The writer does a great job of fleshing out worlds, characters and story, but the type of book I expected and got for the first half, changed dramatically into something else I wouldn't have chosen.
