Story is perfect. Well laid out. Great character build. Not having two different narrators was a mistake in all the series. The female drifts in & out while reading for the males. It’s distracting & lazy.

So much time is spent on a person who isn’t reliable with memory or information, Louise. Lauren listens to & tolerates her like you do an old crazy relative you’re sat next to at Thanksgiving. As the listener I’m forced to be sat next to her as well…A. Lot. I kept thinking if the case, the murder, directly involves this woman then fine. But it doesn’t & she’s zero help. With no answers & just guesses I want my time back.

Sorry to say this book, book 1 I regret bc I know now it just gets worse from here. I optimistically kept reading the series & I want my time&money back. Forget about being excited to see where the Carly Wyatt relationship goes. It’s nonexistent besides some scenes that honestly make Carly unlikable. Author let me down. Glad I didn’t buy any others of hers outside this series is all I can say. Boring simple basic just gets worse with each book.
