Historia
The thrilling new novel in the number one New York Times best-selling series. In Southeast Minnesota, down on the Mississippi, a school board meeting is coming to an end. The board chairman announces that the rest of the meeting will be closed, due to personnel issues. “Issues” is correct. The proposal up for a vote before them is whether to authorize the killing of a local reporter. The vote is four to one in favor. Meanwhile, not far away, Virgil Flowers is helping out a friend by looking into a dognapping, which seems to be turning into something much bigger and uglier.

Historia
On a foggy summer night, 11 people - 10 privileged, one down-on-his-luck painter - depart Martha's Vineyard on a private jet headed for New York. Sixteen minutes later, the unthinkable happens: The plane plunges into the ocean. The only survivors are the painter Scott Burroughs and a four-year-old boy, who is now the last remaining member of an immensely wealthy and powerful media mogul's family. Was it by chance that so many influential people perished? Or was something more sinister at work?

Excellent!
Revisado: 07-10-22
Don’t know how I missed reading this until now - 6 years after its release . Previous reviews go into greater detail about the story, but briefly a plane falls over the ocean between Martha’s Vineyard and New York and 2 people survive. Then the “before” stories of all the passengers are told between “after” stories of the survivors . The author sets a perfect pace as we learn what really happened. The narrator was very good. My favorite book so far this year.

Historia
Once a luxurious Southern getaway on a rustic lake, then reduced to a dilapidated crash pad, the Summer House is now the grisly scene of a nighttime mass murder. Eyewitnesses point to four Army Rangers - known as the Night Ninjas - recently returned from Afghanistan. To ensure that justice is done, the Army sends Major Jeremiah Cook, a veteran and former NYPD cop, to investigate. But the major and his elite team arrive in sweltering Georgia with no idea their grim jobs will be made exponentially more challenging by local law enforcement....

Terrific Story!
Revisado: 01-02-22
I really enjoyed this book - rich with characters, good, evil, and the power of team work. I hope there is another book soon by these authors featuring the same Army CID team.
Plot: An Army criminal investigation team is ordered to a semi rural county in Georgia to investigate a home invasion/ murders of 7 people. A group of ArmyRangers has been arrested for the crime. Most of the story takes place in Georgia with some flashbacks and real-time Afghanistan scene
As with any audiobook the narration is critical and
I think Ari Fliakos was a spot-on choice.
I highly recommend this title to mystery/ thriller/crime fans.

A startling crime with dozens of victims. Appearing out of nowhere to horrify the quiet resort town of Sanibel Island, Florida, dozens of identical, ordinary-looking shoes float in on the tide and are washed up on the tropical beach—each one with a crudely severed human foot inside.

Revisado: 04-16-20
I agree with a previous reviewer - this reminded me of “Still Life With Crows” - not for the storyline, but the richness of the characters, the feeling that you were right there in the scene with them. That book still remains one of my all-time favorites from these authors.
No spoilers here, but be prepared for the bizarre, the fantastic, the bloody action in contrast to A.P.’s extremely “civilized “ persona. LOVED IT!

Historia
When Frank Meyer and his family are executed during a home invasion, the police begin investigating the secret life they're sure Meyer had. Joe Pike's on a hunt of his own: to clear his friend's name, and to punish the people who murdered him. What starts out as a simple trail gets twisted fast by old grudges, double crosses, blood vengeance, and a crime so terrible even Pike and his partner Elvis Cole have no way to measure it.

I'm hooked on Elvis and Joe!
Revisado: 03-25-17
I am new to this series and not experiencing the books in order, you really don't need to. Elvis and his silent ( VERY silent ) partner Joe Pike are so different, but are just perfect together. Subject includes gruesome crime, but the author helps me get through it with his almost clinical descriptions - and then we get on with the solving/serving justice. I also really enjoy the switching back and forth with narrative perspective, Craig is masterful with this.
I thought "the Watchman" would be my favorite , but this one is every bit as good.
If you like this series I highly recommend the new ones with Scott James and his K-9 partner, Maggie. Thank you Mr Crais for writing such an engaging set of stories.

Soooo worth the wait!
Revisado: 08-28-16
I didn't realize how much I was hoping for another of Ms. Phillips ' "Stars" books. And now of course I will need to go back and re-visit all of them. This author always does such a great job of mixing a quirky batch of characters and then baking them into a story as satisfying as homemade bread on a blustery day. The H/H were both so like able - and the narration was spot-on. From the seed bombs to the fate of the Super Bowl ring, I just loved it. As always, the supporting characters, from the BFFs to the bouncers and the bad guys brought this one home. I love books that feature characters of mixed ages and the teenager and senior characters really added to the story. One other thing. Thank you Ms. Phillips for the references of current ( Please let it end in my lifetime) women's issues. Thanks for making sure that we never give up or forget their reality. This book gets a 10/10.

Historia
War hero Alistair Carsington really really loves women, and his romantic impulses have landed him in nearly as much danger as the Battle of Waterloo. To avoid his usual temptations and perhaps even repay the friend who saved his life, he's exiled himself to a place far from civilization - Derbyshire - in winter! Fate laughs at his good intentions and drives him straight into conflict with Miss Mirabel Oldridge, his match in tenacity, intelligence, and deviousness - who also happens to be wildly irresistible.

Wonderful "Miss Wonderful"
Revisado: 06-25-15
I am a new reader of Loretta Chase stories. I have thoroughly enjoyed three and can't wait to listen to more of them. Kate Reading is a perfect choice for narrator. Although I can tell it would be fun to follow each series in order, "Lord of Scoundrels" and "The Last Hellion" were great as stand-alone reads. I love the romances from Amanda Quick and Judy Garland. So happy to add Miss Chase to that list of favorites.

Dark Fire delivers!
Revisado: 04-13-08
In this 6th book of the Dark Series, Ms. Feehan provides a near perfect mix of drama, romance, sensuality, and humor. You feel like you really know the characters and the narrator has them pretty well "nailed" to fit their personalities. This is important to me, since I read almost all of the audiobooks that I listen to. The short but to the point comments between the male characters were great and mostly very funny. The sub-plots of bad guys and a second set of "life mates" had me running to the store to grab the print version of the next in the series.
