Historia
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

Breaks down complexities into easily explainable concepts
Revisado: 10-03-23
I’m a big Glennon Doyle fan because of this book. There is a place for this on the quest to learn more about our unconscious biases and I highly recommend it before reading some other more pointed ones such as “White Women” which I also highly recommend. Glennon and her work shaped me to be ready to hear the harsh realities that waited for me in several other books.

Historia
The Power Source shows how and why our pelvic floor is so important from a variety of different perspectives, ranging from purely physical body mechanics to how it impacts our nervous system to how it is the seat of all life force energy. Roxburgh demonstrates how it relates to the other areas of our body (or, as she calls them, "containers"), both physically and energetically. And, most importantly, she shares a program for how readers can align their bodies and their lives by adopting an entirely new and more powerful definition of "strength".

Enlightening but hard to follow as an audiobook

Will have to download the resources and use to practically apply the principles and exercises discussed. I would often drift off in thought while listening because without following along step by step, it’s not very impactful especially as an audiobook.

Historia
As the founders of Race2Dinner, an organization which facilitates conversations between white women about racism and white supremacy, Regina Jackson and Saira Rao have noticed white women's tendency to maintain a veneer of niceness, and strive for perfection, even at the expense of anti-racism work.

WW, Get comfortable being uncomfortable, it’s time we all do

We really have no excuse anymore (not that we ever did)…because this is the cheatsheet to understanding directly from those with the most personal experience. I great book that will have to be re-listened to times over to fully digest and process the themes. Bravo, ladies, well done and thank you. I’m sorry you had to write this book, and thank you.

Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Excellent, read BEFORE Daring Greatly
Revisado: 10-03-23
I absolutely recommend this book and I recommend it being read before reading Daring Greatly, which is another 5-star review!
