Historia
Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive. But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

Historia
After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers. Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it.

Boring and lack of character depth
Revisado: 11-29-23
The premise is pretty dumb and hamfisted in terms development and delivery. There's no curiosity or introspection with the main character. He just accepts his extraordinary circumstance without any objection or even believable interest. It reads far more like watching someone play a video game who is both boring and trying too hard to be funny or edgy. The jokes fall flat and the action is repetitive and formulaic. There's no character development that makes interested or care at all what happens to any of the characters.

Historia
In the second book in the Dead Jack series, the zombie detective hits rock bottom, bingeing on fairy dust and formaldehyde 24/7. Reluctantly, he sets out with a fellow zombie, the narcissistic Garry, to find his long-lost soul. But a new threat emerges: a neo-Nazi group that hunts down the depressed corpse, believing his sidekick Oswald has the power to capture all the souls in Pandemonium. Again, the wicked world needs saving, but this time can Jack also save himself?

Loved it, but too short.
Revisado: 04-04-21
My only complaint is that it wasn't as long as I wanted it to be. Loved every minute of it though.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

A month has passed since Martin helped to defeat the evil programmer Jimmy, and things couldn't be going better. Except for his love life, that is. Feeling distant and lost, Gwen has journeyed to Atlantis, a tolerant and benevolent kingdom governed by the Sorceresses, and a place known to be a safe haven to all female time-travelers.

Weakest of the trilogy, but still loved it
Revisado: 05-04-16
I think this is the weakest book in the 2.0 series so far, but that said, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Luke Daniels as always delivers a stellar and animated performance. I think the key to this series is not to take it too seriously. If you start to analyze the characters too deeply, or the plot lines for that matter things start to look a little frayed. But if you're looking for a casual fun experience, just hop on for the ride and you'll enjoy what you see.

Historia
Ever since Martin Banks and his fellow computer geeks discovered that reality is just a computer program to be happily hacked, they've been jaunting back and forth through time, posing as medieval wizards and having the epic adventures that other nerds can only dream of having. But even in their wildest fantasies, they never expected to end up at the mercy of the former apprentice whom they sent to prison for gross misuse of magic and all-around evil behavior.

Good fun if you love this series
Revisado: 05-04-16
I've been hopelessly addicted to this series so I may be slightly biased. But I enjoyed this story quite a bit. It's more of the same thing, but personally that's what I love about it. It's just good fun, and a great escape to dive into.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Absolutely amazing.
Revisado: 03-16-16
If you identify as a nerd or a geek, or have any love at all for video games or 80s pop culture, do yourself a favor and listen to or read this book immediately. I literally couldn't put it down. I listened to it at night, in my car, and at work. The story pulls you in with every chapter urging you onto the next. I honestly want to start it over and listen for a second time. Best story I've heard in a very long time.
