slow to get going, but worth every minute.

Was slow to get going, but does speed up. There are a lot of characters to get to know. Took me a bit to grasp exactly what the humans were going through. There is no cookie cutter Scifi here. The story didn't suffer your typical formulaic short comings, so typical with other Scifi novels. The characters go places that you will not guess.

I can't wait for the next book in the series.

P.S. Think the short stories would have been better at the beginning.

Was starting to like the story until the main character starts having sex with two girls at the same time. Thought it was going to be a good story. Yikes.

At first I was not feeling it, then it was like I couldn't stop. Bubba is awesome and grows throughout the story. Biggest surprise yet for me in a series.

One of the best parts about this series is the characters communicate as though they are real flesh and blood people. No PC stuff, but how real people speak in tight nit groups. Don't get me wrong they call each other out on their BS when it's appropriate. it was just hard to stop listening once I started. This series was well worth the time and has become one of my top five easy. Narration was top notch as well.

Amazing character development

I was blown away by this book. I was hooked from the first chapter to the last. The characters felt real. They bring you in and make you smile. This series has it all. science, tactical and humor. The author really seemed to know his cast of characters in a way that made this fun from start to finish.

Liked the story. Just needed more research.

Semi automatic fire. I do not think this means what you think it means. Enjoyed the story just needed a little more research. example: the phrase assault weapon. Professional soldiers do not use it. Just about everything can be a weapon and if used to attack someone with it would then earn the moniker "assault weapon". Assault weapon is a construct of the media.

Another term that should be avoided is clip. Not even when referring to energy weapons. Clips are an old technology that has not been used in firearms in quiet awhile.

Semi automatic fire is one trigger pull one shot. Not three not two....one. It is semiautomatic (BANG) ,three round burst ( BANG BANG BANG) and then automatic, which is BANG till you let off or run dry.

Like I said I enjoyed the story and hope to see more from Cerberus.

Once again McFarland really nails a unique story. Loved the characters and how he keeps it from being predictable. Bravo
