Historia
Ripped from today's headlines, Brian Haig's new novel finds Army lawyer Sean Drummond caught between duty to Washington's elite and the soldiers in Iraq. Dispatched to investigate the suicide of one of D.C.'s most influential defense officials, an ardent, early supporter of the war in Iraq, Drummond and his female partner find themselves in the middle of a tug-of-war between Washington's most influential power brokers and his own personal allegiance to the soldiers dying overseas.

Too long to get into the meat of the story.
Revisado: 02-08-25
Love this series and love this character. I wish Brian would keep the same narrators. I hate when authors have a series and change narrators. I make a connection with the character and the narrator. When they change it takes me a long time into the book to make the connection. Loved the narrator in his first few books in this series. It's like when Bewitched changed Darrens. This book had a lot of foreign connections that were very confusing and went over my head. It was hard to stay connected. Ultimately the story line was good, just didn't need to be so long.

Historia
There is a stranger outside Caroline's house. Her husband is lying to her, so when the stranger, Aiden, shows up as a bartender at the same party where Caroline and her husband have a very public fight, it doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary. As her marriage collapses around her and the lavish lifestyle she's built for herself starts to crumble, Caroline turns to Aiden for comfort...and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aiden's obsession with Caroline, her family, and her house grows more and more disturbing.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-14-22
It was kind of a confusing story. Once it all connected, I was disappointed on how fast the story ended. I had a lot of questions. The two main characters had two different stories on each situation. I guess you had to guess which was the truth. There were characters I would have liked to known what happened to them.
