I am an avid reader. I am also a senior citizen. I have never read a book that better explains our capitalist system and why it not only exists but there is a need for it, it can exist to serve the people. This book is eye-opening. It should be required reading.

Historia
Conventional wisdom cautions that desire and passion are opposed to the spiritual path - that engaging in desire will take you more into the world, into egoic life. And for most people, that is exactly what happens. We naturally tend to experience wanting in a self-centered way. The Power of Divine Eros challenges the view that the divine and the erotic are separate. When we open to the energy, aliveness, spontaneity, and zest of erotic love, we will find it inseparable from the realm of the holy and sacred. When this is understood, desire and passion become a gateway to wholeness.

Illuminating
Revisado: 07-27-23
I thought I started the book with an open mind, but as I progressed through, I started doubting if this book would give me anything. I’m so thankful that I stuck with it until the end, because I really did receive some valuable information that I can apply quite easily to my life, this book is very thought-provoking, and it provoked new and interesting thoughts and feelings . This is a different experience than I have ever had with any other book I have ever read. I literally feel changed.

Historia
Once upon a time, a successful storyteller lost his voice to throat cancer. Deprived of the instrument of his art and his livelihood, he retreated into dark, sullen silence and depression. While searching for a spiritual explanation, he encountered his former mentor, a cantankerous and often drunken old man. Their meetings began a journey into the timeless wisdom of ancient tales: of beggars and kings, monks and tigers, lost horses, buried treasures, and ultimately the secret of happiness.

Historia
In this powerful and timely book, one of the most admired and authoritative religious leaders of our time tackles the phenomenon of religious extremism and violence committed in the name of God. If religion is perceived as being part of the problem, Rabbi Sacks argues, then it must also form part of the solution. When religion becomes a zero-sum conceit and individuals are motivated by what Rabbi Sacks calls "altruistic evil", violence between peoples of different beliefs appears to be the only natural outcome.
