Historia
Former time vice detective Tom Mandel lost his wife after failing to stop Malcolm Wolfe from pulling off the biggest time heist in Unity history. Nine years later, with less than a day remaining on his government-allotted Life Tracker, Tom's ready to join her. But when his former partner, Alaina Raines, brings word that Wolfe has escaped prison and is gearing up for another heist, Tom must decide: spend his last hours on Earth in a drug-induced haze or return to the life he left behind to catch the man who broke him.

The book is fast paced with a lot of action
Revisado: 03-11-16
I won a free copy, not sure if I am expected to review, but I want to. I enjoyed listening to this book.
It is set in the future. The human race can upgrade itself with various nanobots to increase strength or gain new abilities. The Stream, similar to the Internet, is accessible right from your mind. There are those that can manipulate the stream at a much greater ability than the rest of "us". One fallback in the future is your time is limited and is displayed on your arm. Our main character, Tom, only has hours left. That's where we meet our nemesis, the man who killed Tom's wife.
The book is fast paced with a lot of action. The characters and world were developed well. I was looking forward to coming back to hear more of the story each time I had to turn it off. I look forward to more in the series (since this says "Book 1").
The narrator was very good. I thought he voiced all the characters well.

Once the world was beautiful and full of people. Cities filled the landscape and buildings reached the sky. But now, after The Wandering, very few portions of the old world remain, and more of the surviving fragments of a glorious past disappear every day.

I'd listen to more of the serires
Revisado: 03-11-16
Civilization was destroyed generations ago along with the means to create technology that we're all used to. All that is left are a few solar panels and some appliances - oh, and guns. People live in tribes or alone as traveling merchants. Everyone mostly gets along until a new tribe comes out of nowhere with extremely powerful bows and the skill to use them.
I listened to this is as an audiobook and I believe it's the author narrating it. He did a good job, but I think I got an early copy of the audio as it could use a little more post-production.
I would like to listen to follow-on stories in this series.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

"This book is funny", I said.
Revisado: 03-11-16
I did this as an audiobook and it was a lot of fun to listen to.
My only complaint was there are a lot of "this person said" which I'm sure you can skim over when reading the book, but as an audiobook, it was a little annoying.

If I hadn't received this as a free audiobook, I never would have read it. It's just not normally my kind of book. Having said that, it was actually OK. I felt for the main character and wanted him to succeed.
I enjoyed the narration of the book. This is actually the second book by this narrator I've listened to. I think he was a good fit for this book.

Historia
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.

Awesome story
Revisado: 03-11-16
I was told about this book years ago, and I wish I read it then. I really like the world/universe created and the main character gives you no immediate reason to hate him.
The narrator for this fit really well with the main character. I enjoyed listening to him in real-time as well as at my usual 1.5x speed.

Good mix of stories

Kidnapping, medical experiments, serial killers, and more. There is a lot going on in this thriller. Once you remember the characters it's fun to follow.
The narrator tries to give a different voice to everyone. A couple stand out better or are more recognizable than others, but he did a good job.
If you like a thriller it's a good listen.

One of the best-known stories in American culture, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has stirred the imagination of young and old alike for over 100 years. Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married, Alice In Wonderland), fresh from filming one of this year’s most anticipated films, The Dark Knight Rises, lends her voice to this uniquely American fairy tale.

Good story, great narration
Revisado: 02-16-16
I have seen the movie many times, but never read or listened to the book before this. I was glad to hear the similarities and also the "new" content as well.
Anne Hathaway did an excellent job with the narration. I'd definitely listen to another book read by her.

Counter/terrorist story
Revisado: 02-16-16
I was a little confused at first, but stuck through and it got more interesting and together after just a little bit. Some of the things the characters do didn't seem believable to me, but I still wanted to know how intake played out the whole time.
I thought it was worth the read/listen.
I listened to the audiobook and really liked the narrator and thought his voices worked well with the story.
NOTE: I received a free copy to listen to in exchange for an unbiased review.
