Historia
New York City in 1978 is a dirty, dangerous place to live - and die. Joey Peacock knows this as well as anybody - he has spent the last forty years as an adolescent vampire, perfecting the routine he now enjoys: womanizing in punk clubs and discotheques, feeding by night, and sleeping by day with others of his kind in the macabre labyrinth under the city's sidewalks.

It's really f**king good
Revisado: 12-03-21
It has so much heart, and every lead character leaps off the page. Did I forget some of the side characters? Yes, but Joey assured me I would, and he didn't seem to mind. Phenomenal story telling, accents, and character creation by the author/vocals. Honestly, I just want to meet him to tell him, ok, yeah, you got me. that was amazing and the ending made me stop everything I was doing just to listen.
You won't regret this book.

Okiku wants vengeance...and she gets it. Whenever there's a monster hurting a child - the same way she was hurt 300 years ago in Japan - her spirit is there to deliver punishment. But one American boy draws her like no other. The two are pulled into a world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from the American Midwest to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan. The boy is not a monster, but something evil writhes beneath his skin, trapped by a series of intricate tattoos.

i love this book so much
Revisado: 06-12-19
I've read it before but it's been 2 years and i missed it. Even the 2nd time around it has surprises and scares. While i prefer my Tarq (different tone of voice in my head) the scene with Callie after the big event made me cry like a baby while listening. Well done!

loved it!
Revisado: 05-25-19
Milo and Haley (Hayley? Hailee?) are my new favorite side characters. Jillian is still the shit, but those two were cracking me up. As always Theo did a great job and interested me in different scientific theories that i would never have even thought about in my own. Very fun and knowledgeable book, but that last line may be killing me.

Spectacular as always!!
Revisado: 01-23-18
You know you're a fan when you know Victor's favorite go-to moves and you think, "Oh man, did these guys mess up."
The action was perfectly described and just plain fun, and Raven may be one of my new favorites. I also loved how certain characters from other books were brought up and had an active role in his decision making. Rob Shapiro IS Victor. No one else can bring him to reality like he can and I wouldn't listen if anyone else tried.

It's so bittersweet to end a series this amazing
Revisado: 12-16-17
I loved it. Couldn't get enough of the amazing characters who now feel like close friends and I feel like this book series really struck a chord in me. It made me laugh, cry, tense up in fear and sigh in relief. The narrator did an amazing job with the many accents and characters and she truly brought magic to an already enchanted tale. I am so sad it's over but so happy I had the chance to enjoy it.

From its first moments, Hunter takes you on a nonstop thrill ride: from the top floor of the CIA, to the marbled corridors of Capitol Hill...from the posh hotels of downtown Washington, to the city's mean, violent streets. It introduces a colorful new hero for our time - and a dazzling heroine every bit his equal. A spy mystery...a crime thriller...a passionate romance: Hunter is a genre-bending novel unlike any you've read. Deviously plotted, filled with vivid characters, and propelled at a breakneck pace.

Not totally sold on this one
Revisado: 08-23-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It was ok. The main character became WAY too Gary-Sue for my taste. He started out as an interesting and damaged character, but he was too badass by the end. I would have preferred more mistakes, more humanity and more flaws in him. Plus, the love interest was cool at first, but then became more like a pretty trinket than a smart, capable woman. Seriously? A woman that tough is regressed to just screaming his name over and over in the final fight? That's some bull. I feel like they could have done WAY more with her character. I prefer the way Gregg Hurwitz writes female characters. They have sexuality, but it's not overdone or cheap. They're tough, but they have vulnerability. They take an active part in their own destiny, and Gregg Hurwitz would NEVER have a male mc say that you can't say no in the bedroom. That was my least favorite part. Seriously, dude, ew.
Anyway, probably wouldn't recommend.
Would you be willing to try another book from Robert Bidinotto? Why or why not?
Nah
What does Conor Hall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Conor had a very attractive voice and really created a good character. He did very well on the characters and I liked that he made most of the characters distinct from each other.

Perfect, as always
Revisado: 07-28-17
Loved all of it. I'm a sucker for bittersweet things (ask my dark chocolate obsession) so I knew that this book wouldn't have a stereotypical happy ending. I was right...and wrong. it was full of ups and downs, a few funny moments and some truly scary villains. Scott Brick was as flawless as he usually Is, and his voice relays every emotion perfectly. He is the master of accents, and I can't wait to listen to him narrate more amazing stories like this one. Kudos to the author and narrator for making this story come to life.

Revisado: 05-13-17
I LOVED this book. I loved the writing, the bad guys, the twists, and most of all the narrator. Scott Brick is fantastic, and will always be my Ethan Smoak. The books just come to life when he reads them. I found myself holding my breath at several tense moments and truly feeling the panic, the cold fury, everything in amazing color. Both Gregg Hurwitz and Scott Brick have me as a fan for life.

Ben Ripley may only be in middle school, but he's already pegged his dream job: CIA or bust. Unfortunately for him, his personality doesn't exactly scream "secret agent". In fact Ben is so awkward, he can barely get to school and back without a mishap. Because of his innate nerdiness, Ben is not surprised when he is recruited for a magnet school with a focus on science - but he's entirely shocked to discover that the school is actually a front for a junior CIA academy.
