Historia
Amy Nicols (Lizzy Caplan) was an FBI agent with a dogged need to protect everyone—until that instinct caused her to mishandle a crisis, lose innocent lives, and lose her job. Now a civilian working in private security, that mistake still haunts her. One morning on the commuter train, she overhears a young couple plotting a murder. Ignoring warnings from her family and friends, Amy’s instinct to protect and serve compels her to investigate. But the further she goes, the more she finds her own life in danger.

Amazing full cast audio production and storyline
- De Jason Nichols en 03-02-25
Didn’t like the narrative. Story was decent though.
Revisado: 04-24-25
I thought parts of the narrative felt forced and very fake. It made the story feel silly and childish. The story itself would have been more suspenseful and thrilling with just the main characters narration and no one else.

Historia
God is change. That is the central truth of the Earthseed movement, whose unlikely prophet is 18-year-old Lauren Olamina. The young woman's diary entries tell the story of her life amid a violent 21st-century hell of walled neighborhoods and drug-crazed pyromaniacs - and reveal her evolving Earthseed philosophy. Against a backdrop of horror emerges a message of hope: if we are willing to embrace divine change, we will survive to fulfill our destiny among the stars.

Good story, calming voice
Revisado: 09-10-24
Enjoyed the narrator with her calming voice. Many of these type of stories are comprised of mostly violence and killing, this story has those things but does not focus so much on them. They are a part of life but not the focus of it. The characters do not want to kill, are not looking for a battle, they practice defense when necessary and move on. I feel like this is how many good people would behave. I look forward to the next book and I’m sad the third was not completed before the authors death.

Just After Sunset - call it dusk, call it twilight, it's a time when human intercourse takes on an unnatural cast, when nothing is quite as it appears, when the imagination begins to reach for shadows as they dissipate to darkness and living daylight can be scared right out of you. It's the perfect time for Stephen King.

Different and fun stories. Some really short and a couple more lengthy. All a bit different. I enjoyed all the narrators as well.

Historia
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

It is so boring
Revisado: 07-13-24
I really tried to get through it, I made it almost halfway but it was such a struggle and reading fiction is supposed to be enjoyable but it wasn’t. The only characters I cared about at all were the two kids and the cat. The soldiers were all just drab boring characters.

Historia
When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?). Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans! Again!

Historia
Cassie McDowell’s life in 1980s Minnesota seems perfectly wholesome. She lives on a farm, loves school, and has a crush on the nicest boy in class. Yes, there are her parents’ strange parties and their parade of deviant guests, but she’s grown accustomed to them. All that changes when someone comes hunting in Lilydale. One by one, local boys go missing. One by one, they return changed - violent, moody, and withdrawn. What happened to them becomes the stuff of shocking rumors. The accusations of who’s responsible grow just as wild, and dangerous town secrets start to surface.

Revisado: 12-26-22
I realize the story was from the perspective of a young girl, but it was childish even for that. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't a good adult read.

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Sound effects are horrible
Revisado: 05-13-19
The sound effects are loud and disruptive and completely unnecessary.
The book is too long, it could have been 2 hours shorter without losing the story or character development.
I’m a King fan and have many of his long books under my belt and this is the first time I was happy it was over.
It’s not bad, it’s just not good.
I enjoyed the narrator.
