Zero, Nyx, and the other Pathfinder colonists have adjusted to life on Kaguya. But Earth has built much faster starships-the Dreamcatcher arrives 10 years early, and the Stargazer arrives so early it actually got there before the Pathfinder did! Now the Stargazer is a lost shipwreck, and the race is on to find it, and who should show up looking for it but Nyx's dangerous family: Big Mama, Jim, and Kratt. Nyx and Zero will face kidnappers, pirates, shipwrecks, warlords, dragons, and maybe a new ally or two on their way to save the day once again.

Historia
Fly Away is the story of three women who have lost their way and need each other - plus a miracle - to transform their lives. An emotionally-complex, heart-wrenching novel about love, family, motherhood, loss, and redemption, Fly Away reminds us that where there is life, there is hope and where there is love, there is forgiveness. Told with her trademark visceral storytelling and illuminating prose, Kristin Hannah reveals why she is one of the most beloved writers of our day.

Tough listen
Revisado: 08-03-22
80% of this book is angry people with their lives falling apart. Really depressing. The narrator does a good job for what it is, but its hard to listen to because all the characters are mad and angry and sad so the narrator is sort of yelling all the time. Definitely not a “feel good” book like the first one. I almost gave up on it, but listened til the end. I would not recommend it.

An unexpected find!
Revisado: 07-07-16
Where does The Horseman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I think this is somewhere in the middle. It was a very good performance. Perhaps not the most literary of books, but an entertaining listen without being too dumbed down or simple.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the setting, the characters, the horses. It was really and intriguing story of happenstance that was believable yet whimsical at the same time.
Have you listened to any of Wendy Bos’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
Who was the most memorable character of The Horseman and why?
Craig and Peta were both excellent characters. They each struggled with their own demons, which brought them closer together.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book!

Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Ok story, but a bit gruesome
Revisado: 03-11-16
I did not particularly enjoy this book. The narration was excellent, but the book was pretty gruesome, and I didn't really latch on the caring who killed the family. The whole book I just wanted it to end. I give it three stars for the narration and the authors ability to tie the story together with segments from many different perspectives.

There are only a few customers, but they come in repeatedly and never seem to actually buy anything....

Should be categorized as teen lit
Revisado: 05-21-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Maybe....it was a fun story at first, but about half way through I got very bored. It's definitely a teen lit-type book. If I had that expectation going into it I may have enjoyed it more, but maybe not. It got a bit annoying at times.

Good writing, but drawn out story
Revisado: 09-24-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. There were sections of this book that moved along, but the story as a whole was very slow moving. I thought the author tried overly hard to develop the characters without really accomplishing the task. There was a bit of interesting history to it, but not enough to really save the story. I'd pass on this one.

This was a great listen, it kept my attention throughout the whole book. I loved hearing the story from the dogs perspective, and really fell in love with this dog's personality. The narrator, as always, was wonderful as well. Definitely recommended!

First Butcher book
Revisado: 02-18-11
I had heard a lot about this series, so decided to give it a try. I'll caveat this by saying that I enjoy good literature, but also enjoy serial authors as well who are pumping out books quickly to suit the masses. I think there are good and bad "serial authors" (not sure if there's a more correct name for them!), but this was one of the worst. I'm writing this review comparing this book to others in similar categoy. I was very disappointed at the flatness of the characters. The character development was poor to say the least. The writing is very simple, and did little to describe the setting where the story took place. My 5 year old nephew would understand the book... I guess I look for a bit more than "story time" in my reading. I'll give it 3 starts because the plot was sort of entertaining, but I do expect a bit more from authors who are as experienced as Butcher. I'm shocked at how many people gave it 5 stars. There are 5 star books that are worthy on many levels (e.g., The Help), and then there are enjoyable stories, which while entertaining, aren't 5 star worthy.

Historia
The four fires in this story are passion, religion, warfare, and fire itself. While there are many more fires that drive the human spirit, love being perhaps the brightest flame of all, it is these four that have moulded us most as Australian people. The four fires give us our sense of place and, for better or for worse, shape our national character.

This book took me a few hours to get into, but once I did I was hooked! The narrator is fantastic, and the character development is top notch. There's even a bit of history and environmental threads woven in, so I felt I learned a few things by the end of it! Very highly recommended.
