Suprisingly great

I usually read sci-fi and producticity books so when the book club picked this book I was very meh about it. However, I couldn’t put it down. There was always an urge to find out what happens next. My only wish is that there was a bit more description on the gown, the music, and the parties. I couldn’t really picture the people or scenes well even tho I was so invested.

Worse than a story where nothing happens

I picked up this book because I wanted to relieve some anxiety through a heartfelt story. However, the main character simply gets lucky merging the right friends to help her achieve her dreams rather than face any interesting struggles that would arise in character growth. When she faces the main antagonist she does absolutely no prep work whatsoever. If you live in a magical world and have the ability to ward off fire then how do you not have fire protection on your business.
