Historia
Practicing Our Faith offers help to Christians who are asking how our faith can help us discern what we might do and who we might become. How can we live faithfully and with integrity in a world where the pace of existence is so fast and life's patterns are changing all around us? Can we conduct our daily lives in ways that help us not just get by but flourish - as individuals, as communities, and as a society in concert with creation and in communion with God?

Amazing book. Horrible narrator.
Revisado: 08-22-24
The narrator has never cracked open a Bible and never thought to consider how to pronounce words she didn’t know. 1 Corinthians is read as “one Corinthians,” the same thing that got Donald Trump laughed. “Ephesians” is pronounced “e-feez-ee-uns,” “Colossians” is pronounced “coll-uh-SEE-uns.” If you’re one for whom mispronunciations are like nails on a chalkboard, this book is not for you. It left me saying, “where do they find these people?”
On the other hand, the book is great. Just buy the hardcopy instead.

Historia
Welcome to the age of behavioral addiction - an age in which half of the American population is addicted to at least one behavior. We obsess over our emails, Instagram likes, and Facebook feeds; we binge on TV episodes and YouTube videos; we work longer hours each year; and we spend an average of three hours each day using our smartphones. Half of us would rather suffer a broken bone than a broken phone, and Millennial kids spend so much time in front of screens that they struggle to interact with real, live humans.

Historia
By the end of on average day in the early 21st century, human beings searching the Internet will amass eight trillion gigabytes of data. This staggering amount of information - unprecedented in history - can tell us a great deal about who we are - the fears, desires, and behaviors that drive us, and the conscious and unconscious decisions we make. From the profound to the mundane, we can gain astonishing knowledge about the human psyche that less than 20 years ago seemed unfathomable.

Where do you find the readers
Revisado: 04-29-20
Harrah’s is a casino. It’s not pronounced hurrah’s. Doppelgänger is a German worm pronounced dah-pul-ganger. It’s not pronounced dough-pul-gangers. For me, the reader is a make or break. I just wonder if the author has any say in who reads his/her book. Author seems obsessed with sex and porn. The theme of the book is pretty much the title.

Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Best performance ever
Revisado: 08-24-19
This Audible productions was amazing. Tim Robbins did a fantastic job voicing all of the characters. I’d never read F451, but I totally loved the story line and the cleverness of it all.

Historia
J. Gresham Machen once said, "False ideas are the greatest obstacles to the reception of the Gospel" - which makes apologetics that much more important. Wanting to engage not just academics and pastors but Christian laypeople and seekers, William Lane Craig has revised and updated key sections in this third edition of his classic text to reflect the latest work in astrophysics, philosophy, probability calculus, arguments for the existence of God, and Reformed epistemology.

Narrator needs to go back to elementary school
Revisado: 04-19-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
No. It's too dense for an audiobook; read the paper version. Plus, the narrator is totally annoying.
What didn’t you like about Jim Denison’s performance?
What kind of narrator says eck-cetera instead of et-cetera? There are so many annoying, elementary school mispronunciations that they pretty well turned me off from completing the book. Maybe this sort of thing doesn't bother you, but it drove me nuts.
