Historia
While the Civil War raged in America, another very different revolution was beginning to take shape across the Atlantic, in the studios of Paris. The artists who would make Impressionism the most popular art form in history were showing their first paintings amid scorn and derision from the French artistic establishment. Indeed, no artistic movement has ever been, at its inception, quite so controversial.

Wonderfully researched, but to what end?
Revisado: 02-27-18
This was an easy one to finish, the narration is perfect and it was full of interesting information to fill out the period. As far as carrying through the theme, it felt abrupt towards the end and I'm not certain it achieved the goal of explaining the progress and ultimate primacy of impressionism. I would happily listen to it again, however, for the biographical information.
