Left me with a lot to think about.
Revisado: 10-11-22
I enjoyed this book very much, lots of helpful information. The only thing I am disappointed with is the audio book did not come with the downloads. I contacted Amazon but they were no help. I might have to buy the book, I feel like this is one of those books where I need a hardcopy to highlight and look back on often.

Historia
A powerful, moving memoir - and a practical guide to healing - written by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, an eminent psychologist whose own experiences as a Holocaust survivor help her treat patients and allow them to escape the prisons of their own minds. The Choice weaves Eger's personal story with case studies from her work as a psychologist. Her patients and their stories illustrate different phases of healing and show how people can choose to escape the prisons they construct in their minds and find freedom, regardless of circumstance.

Fantastic!

This is the best audiobook I have ever listened to and one of the best books ever written. Dr. Edger is amazing and I loved every word she wrote. The narrator could not have been any better, the emotional journey she brought me on was overwhelming and beautiful. I'm so glad I bought the audio version!

We already rely on science to tell us what to eat, when to exercise, and how long to sleep. Why not use science to help us improve our relationships? In this revolutionary book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller scientifically explain why some people seem to navigate relationships effortlessly, while others struggle.

Could be the best relationship book I've come across. Everyone should read/listen to this book! I have a much better insight and understanding of myself and behavior now.

Historia
If you've ever laughed your way through David Sedaris's cheerfully misanthropic stories, you might think you know what you're getting with Calypso. You'd be wrong. When he buys a beach house on the Carolina coast, Sedaris envisions long, relaxing vacations spent playing board games and lounging in the sun with those he loves most. And it's as idyllic as he imagined, except for one tiny, vexing realization: it's impossible to take a vacation from yourself. With Calypso, Sedaris sets his formidable powers of observation - and dark humor - toward middle age and mortality.

Gave me lots to think about.
Revisado: 11-27-18
This book has given me a lot of self awareness and knowledge into how my childhood has affected my marriage. I have not started the exercises yet but already feel the benefits of awareness gained from Getting the Love You Want. Definitely worth the read.

Historia
In the late 1960s, riding the crest of the counterculture movement, Cea's family left a comfortable existence in California to live off the land in the Canadian wilderness. But unlike most commune dwellers of the time, the Persons weren't trying to build a new society - they wanted to escape civilization altogether. Led by Cea's grandfather Dick, they lived a pot-smoking, free-loving, clothing-optional life under a canvas tipi without running water, electricity, or heat for the bitter winters.

Great story telling
Revisado: 11-27-18
Cea did a wonderful job telling her story with brutal honesty. I often enjoy reading of others who survived hard, unconventional childhoods and this book didn't disappoint.
My only small complaint is the authors voice was a little monotone.
