Historia
When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Michael York should stick to the stage and leave narration to the pros.

I am guessing the narrator ruined it.

I only finished the listen because the book has such a strong reputation. I feel I could have skipped the first 11 chapters.

Historia
Lewis Howes grew up as an athlete. He was a two-sport All-American and went on to play football professionally. Howes then transferred his competitive nature from sports to business, building his podcast, The School of Greatness, into a global phenomenon. But his whole identity was built on misguided beliefs about what "masculinity" was: dangerous, false ideas learned from teammates and coaches in locker rooms and stereotypes in the media. Like so many men, Howes grew up to be angry, frustrated, and always chasing something that was never enough.

Exceptional material. Well written and narrated.

I wish I could force others to listen to this, so many of the people in our world could benefit from it. Unfortunately, I don't think a person will be responsive to this until they are ready for it, and most of us are not yet. I started listening to self help books and seeing therapists a year ago in an effort to save my marriage. There are two books that really stand out among the bunch, this one and Feeling Good Together by Dr David Burns. ps. Neither of these are just for men. Women suffer from many of these masks also.

Historia
Dr. Loren A. Olson has frequently been asked two questions: How could you not know that you were gay until the age of forty? Wasn't your marriage just a sham to protect yourself at your wife's expense? In Finally Out, Dr. Olson vigorously answers both questions by telling the inspiring story of his evolving sexuality, into which he intelligently weaves psychological concepts and gay history.

I was expecting more advice on how to let go of being straight.
Revisado: 06-01-18
This is more of an autobiography/ coming out story than a guide book. I appreciate that it is narrated by the author and the factoids are nice but Loren could have done a better job narrating his own writing.
Also, i came away wondering what the short chapter on bisexuality was meant to tell us. It could be interpreted as “bisexuals are men who are afraid to be gay”. I am bisexual and married to a woman. I only came out last year at 46, so i could just be sensitive.
