Just when I thought Anspach and Chaney where tapped out, they go and drop a bomb shell on my head! This was a non-stop, adrenaline fueled, Commie killing leg-slapper! If you found the other books in the series good you won't be disappointed.

If you're a fan of Nick Cole you will start to notice some similarities between this story and it's main character "Orion" and "Ruins of the Earth" with "Speaker." Once you move past the similarities the story of Strange Company grows as we learn about Voodoo Company and it's "Bishops." Characters that have an other worldly ability to manipulate time and space, stacking the deck in Strange's favor. Grant does a superb job narrating, but I would have preferred Cole and his publishers to use another narrator to cut down on confusion and similarities between the various Nick Cole universes.

You could give this series the budget Star Gate (the series) had and you'd wind up with another 10-year money maker. Sure, there is a bit-too much internal dialog and a ton of 'Ranger-love' but it's a great series and one day deserves a mini-series at the very least.

Anspach, Chaney, and R.C. Bray deliver another thrilling adventure in the Wayward Galaxy series! The authors ticked off all the boxes that a great Sci-fi novel needs; great characters, creepy aliens, rad tech, and complex villains. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that at times there are too many gears in motion to keep up with. *5 stars, highly recommend.

If you're a fan of "stream of consciousness" and/or "time travel," then this book may have your name on it. Crouch clearly likes the paradoxical realms of the mind, time, and memory and takes the reader on a unique journey through time in a fashion like 'the butterfly effect.'

You don't dive long into this story before you realize this is a twisted mind &$#@. Robinson, in my opinion, successfully made a stand-alone sequel to "Infinite," and leaves [us] constantly questioning if his characters are experiencing 'reality' or the hyper-real virtual world(s) created by Will (the protagonist of book one). If you can handle a bit of 'stream of consciousness' then I highly recommend.

This was a great addition to Doc Spears's catalog. I cannot say I was over the moon for the ending but it's certainly adding to Doc's creds. Stephen Dexter is my weak-link; he has a habit of narrating with an almost whisper and while driving I had to stop the story multiple times to listen to anything else. -I wish I had physically 'read' Doc's books on this occasion rather than listen... but that would have been more detrimental to my driving.

If you felt like Alanson had lost some steam with the story line following the Merry Band of Pirates Critical Mass will restore your faith. Critical Mass brought me back to books 1 & 2, in the best way possible.

Overall the story is an enjoyable addition to the 'Edge' series but by the end I found myself wishing for a bit more intrigue than was delivered. The narrator clearly has watched very few military style movies or shows and I found the annunciation of words such as "carbine" a tad annoying, although the author(s) could have switched 'carbine' out with 'rifle' and it would have been an easy fix.

Well written, acted, and enjoyed! This was a solid spin-off following "Wash" from the Galaxy End series.
