Narration amazing

The narrator is one of the best I’ve ever heard. He captures the emotions of serial killers and politicians beautifully

Historia
They say the love of money is the root of all evil, but for Ken Swift, it's the love of a woman. Ken is 21, hurting people for cash to try to pay his way through college, when he lays eyes on Jimi Lee, the woman who will change the course of his entire life. What's meant to be a one-night stand with the Harvard-bound beauty turns into an explosion of sexual chemistry that neither can quit. And when Jimi Lee becomes pregnant, their two very different worlds collide in ways they never could have anticipated.

Excellent Read!!!

Dion Graham is one of the BEST narrators I’ve ever heard. He navigated the emotions of the book as if it was a biographical novel.

Historia
He is perhaps most well-known for being exiled from the league for praying—instead of standing and saluting the flag–during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before games throughout the 1995-96 season. Abdul-Rauf’s protest sent shockwaves through the NBA that can still be felt today. With wit and candor, Abdul-Rauf tells the story of how he rose to the top of his game—only to have his career taken away in the blink of an eye when he stood up for his principles.

My favorite player
Revisado: 02-09-23
I watched Mahmoud as a kid….bc there was a small media presence back then, it was hard to keep up with players. One day he disappeared from the Nuggets and I didn’t know why….I never heard his name again…..and now I get to understand why. This really broke my heart

Historia
Stephen A. Smith has never been handed anything, nor was he an overnight success. Growing up poor in Queens, the son of Caribbean immigrants and the youngest of six children, he was a sports-obsessed kid who faced struggles, from undiagnosed dyslexia to getting enough cereal to fill his bowl. As a basketball player at Winston-Salem State University, he got a glimmer of his true calling when he wrote a newspaper column arguing for the retirement of his own Hall of Fame coach, Clarence Gaines.

What you see is what you get sometimes! But understanding the layers both brick and mortar that built the finished product is both inspiring and rewarding. Thank you Stephen A. For this read

Enlightening at the very least
Revisado: 02-01-22
This brave and excellent book has spotlighted the same very things happening today in our society. On the surface we seem integrated, but oppression still lives in the judicial system and infrastructure of America. I have asked one of my white buddies to read this book in hopes for simple understanding.
