Historia
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Not bad
Revisado: 02-02-15
This was enjoyable, I'll rob ably listen to the rest of the series. Although compared to the hunger games it lacks meat and emotional depth for me.

Historia
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours. Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret.

Enthralling tale, disappointing conclusion
Revisado: 01-25-15
Great story all the way through, but I like the ending was a cop out. Like the author never knew the answer either.

Too level headed.
Revisado: 01-08-15
The narrator gave such an even keeled performance throughout this book that I think I missed most of the action scenes! I usually really enjoy Matthew Reilly, and I this time I may have to read the paper edition myself to give the book the emphasis it deserves.

Felt unfinished
Revisado: 10-15-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I enjoyed this book as part of the series, although it felt as though it was an unfinished part of the story. An incomplete chapter.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
As mentioned above, the book felt unfinished. It felt like a lot of filler to get to the ending.
What about Pete Bradbury’s performance did you like?
Very easy to listen to and to differentiate characters.
Do you think The Daylight War needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes. Absolutely. I feel like this book want supposed to stand alone. Usually in a series I like each to feel like a complete story.
