Historia
Jada Townsend-Matthews is the most reviled woman in America after turning down a proposal on a reality dating show. When she comes home to lick her wounds, Jada finds herself working at San Diego's newest cupcake bakery, Sugar Blitz, alongside the uptight owner and professional football player Donovan Dell. When a reporter mistakenly believes Jada and Donovan are an item, they realize they can use the misunderstanding to their advantage to help the bakery and rehabilitate Jada's image. Faking a relationship should be simple, but sometimes love is the most unexpected ingredient.

Pleasant, light romance. The idea of succeeding with a disability is a great message for younger readers as is having successful, upright football players baking and owning a cupcake shop and being responsible, respectful men

Historia
Lis Smith isn’t your average political strategist and Any Given Tuesday isn’t your typical political memoir. At once a revealing look at human nature at the highest levels of power and an intimate portrayal of a sometimes rocky personal journey, it breaks all the rules. Smith doesn’t pretend to be perfect—she owns the controversial choices that landed her in the tabloids, as well as the unorthodox ones that have paid off and defined her successful career.

The New York Times Magazine’s award-winning “1619 Project” issue reframed our understanding of American history by placing slavery and its continuing legacy at the center of our national narrative. This new book substantially expands on that work, weaving together 18 essays that explore the legacy of slavery in present-day America with 36 poems and works of fiction that illuminate key moments of oppression, struggle, and resistance.

NOT MY KIND IF HUMOR
Revisado: 03-17-22
just not for me. Finding humor in the pain is a heroic endeavor that often provides strength to battle on. This attempt to do such just doesn't work. Situations and experiences could have been poignantly humorous but the writing and the delivery just don't carry through.

After following her mother to the US at a young age to pursue economic opportunities, one woman must come to terms with the ways in which systematic racism and resultant trauma keep the American Dream inaccessible to Black people. In the early '90s, young Tiffanie Drayton and her siblings left Trinidad and Tobago to join their mother in New Jersey, where she'd been making her way as a domestic worker, eager to give her children a shot at the American Dream. At first, life in the US was idyllic.

Callous Cruel Catholic Clan
Revisado: 03-06-22
To bad there was no TMZ, INSTAGRAM or instat recorders This was a cruel, criminally catholic, dysfunctional family with money enough to keep their behinds covered. Tragic yes but manipulative liars, philandering, anti Semitic and snobs. Each generation brings out more of the Kennedy cruelty and mess and provides additional insight into many actions of the family. The good they didv manage in no way diminishes the callousness of feelings demonstrated and further explains why the family was disliked and not trusted. q . This is an excellent addition to the Kennedy legacy.

Look What Crazy Can Do
Revisado: 03-06-22
Kankakee County is my home and my parents and many that I knew worked at Manteno State Hospitand many worked at Kankakee State Hospital. I have never heard of this remarkable woman. what a shame. Exhausting, frustrating captivating historical review. Discrimination. misogyny and cruelty shaped and continue to shape society. So much if the inhumanity comes at the hands of white men. The continuum is frightening. The stories must continue to be told. The treatment and care of the mentally is still today, a problem seeking a human solution.
