Historia
When Sandra Leigh was seven years old, she fell into the role of protector of her mother and three younger siblings. One winter night, she ushered her mother out of the house during one of her father’s tirades, and then snuck her back into the dark home through a window. Sandra was used to events like these; what she wasn’t used to were the mountains and nature surrounding her new home in West Virginia.

Keeps my attention
Revisado: 03-20-21
This is the longest audible I have listened to but it kept my attention. This girl went through so much growing up in the same era as me. Much of this was relatable. She was strong and resilient. She did a great job of putting me into the scenes so I could feel the experiences. She also touched on many social issues but just told a story without getting political which I appreciated. Thanks

Engrossing it Captured Me

I love Sherry Kyles books as they are wholesome and have a bit of mystery. I love that they are set in an area I lived in and the local landmarks spark many memories for me. I love the different stories woven together and it touched on many struggles young people face today. She is able to have applicable Bible references that can give hope, comfort and inspiration to the audience.

Today’s world is fast and chaotic. I truly enjoyed going back in time and experiencing a life that I think I would have enjoyed. I liked the character development, the humor that was infused, and the different journeys that the characters had in their walk with the Lord. It kept my attention and had several stories embedded within the main story. I listen when I drive and time passed quickly.
