Historia
In the months since Cassandra Devlin walked off Earth onto another planet, she has grappled with everything from making blankets to helping psychics battle the memories of monsters. Not able to find a way home, she has instead gained friends and a purpose. Unfortunately, that purpose brings with it the pressure of being more than a little valuable, and those she has befriended are also her guards, ordered to explore and control her abilities to find out just what it is a touchstone can do.

Love the book, not so much the voice actress
Revisado: 02-19-21
I adore the original book. But the voice actress sounds like a robot. There is no flow in her voice and every sentence sounds like it exists in it's own space without correlation to the rest of the story, sentences or paragraphs. It made it so hard to continue listening. If I wouldn't have read the story prior already, I would have stopped after the first 5 minutes. It was still very hard to finish the audio book, only my love for there original made that possible.

Montana's new life in Vuldranni, the medieval fantasy game world he lucked into, isn't quite the tranquil extended fishing trip he'd been hoping for. But you gotta admit, he's doing pretty well for himself. Now he's Montana Coggeshall, heir to a dukedom. If he can get his crew to Osterstadt and claim it in time.

Seriously why is he THAT dumb?
Revisado: 12-18-20
First off, I do actually like the story and where it's going. But the ML is seriously dumb. Even if he is just thinking to himself, the question he asks are often but with asking - if he would have listened. He never comes to any logical conclusion without needing to be pointed, no handheld, into the right direction. He is very op, which can be fun, but he needs to put 30 more points into INT or something. The amount of times I rolled my eyes is ridiculous.
I hope he gets better.

Interesting beginning - cringe worthy MC
Revisado: 11-05-18
You know when you feel like you want to know what will happen next, but if you have to continue reading about the sheer idiocy and incompetence of the MC, you will rip your eyes out? That's how I feel. The MC is a former spy/black ops with amazing real life skills, but in the game he turns into a bumbling, naive idiot who doesn't understand a single thing about games (yeah sure he never played a game before) and completely lost anything that could be considered common sense. He only lives because of plot armor and OP powers.
I'm torn. I like the idea and potential of the story. But having to read more about this MC... Oh man.
The voice actor is OK. A good narrator, but when he tries to act out the different voices it just becomes cringe worthy. Kind of like the MC.

Historia
Shari is a med student, months away from being a doctor. Mace is a coder on his first day of an exciting new job. When the world comes to a sudden and horrifying end, none would have expected them to be among the few survivors. Hyper-aggressive undead zombie creatures hunt anything living on the surface, where even the grass and trees can kill you. Hiding underground is safe, but not much of a life. Their only escape is a virtual world of magic and monsters where Shari can use her healing skills, and Mace can focus on something other than his fears.

I almost like the rl part better
Revisado: 10-24-18
The real world situation is really interesting and I found myself skipping some parts of the chapter where the main character was in game. I was more invested in the real world situation. The audio production was great, loved the voices.

Loved it
Revisado: 10-07-18
it's my second time reading this story and my first time listening to it. I loved the world, setting and plot the first time around and that didn't change. The middle part of the book is a bit confusing and there is a LOT going on and you feel like you're rushing from one sentence to the next. But I think it's worth it.

Nick Podehl is my absolute favorite!
Revisado: 08-02-18
I admit, if an audio book is read by a voice actor I like, I'm already in favor and biased towards a more positive review. If that actor supports a good story? Heck yeah! I really like the writing. The characters are flawed and often I can relate to them. I wish the MC's character development would be stronger, he is kind of stuck in his ways. It is understandable that he is pushing it out, with all the changes going on around and within him due to the System. Romance and relationships aren't on the forefront, which I personally like. There are so many LitRPGs with harem themes already. I can do without it. I'm already on book 4, having read the third installment in one sitting, but I will go back and get the audio books as well. It's worth it for me. :)

One that they might be losing.

Revisado: 03-18-18
I loved reading these as ebooks and there just as good as audio books. Outstanding performance by the voice actor. Nick Podehl had quickly become my favorite of the actors of the many who voice audio books. Five stars all the way!
