Very Dark

This story is so dark and twisted there were a couple of times where I questioned if I could finish it. Maybe it's because I'm a new mom. That being said, moms of babies beware. This will make you sick to your stomach. I didn't care enough to like or dislike the ending because I was just glad it was over.

Love the darkness and the setting

I loved the darkness and the setting of this story. There were twists and turns through out the book that were completely unexpected. I will have to check out more from this author. Having multiple narrators made it very entertaining as well!

Plot Twist

I disagree with other reviews that this story was slow moving, I really enjoyed it! You end up with a really satisfying plot twist which redeems one character and makes you think twice about another.

Immediately interesting story!

This was a very enjoyable audio book. Full disclosure I have been a big fan of everything from Kelly Armstrong that I've consumed. This story was no let down! I love the way she creates hidden worlds within the real world, it is the exact type of fantasy that I crave from a book! On Instagram I believe she posted that this is a stand alone novel which is sort of disappointing because I really liked the story and wanted it to continue. On the other hand, it wraps up pretty nicely so that I won't spend the next three years wondering what the characters are up to, so if there ever were a sequel it would just be a nice surprise!
I would recommend this to anyone who is fascinated by mysteries and mental health complications. As someone who has experienced some struggles here and there, and as the sibling of someone with severe mental health battles, I appreciated the subtleties and respectful nature of the way the characters were presented.

I loved this story

I never knew about the blue people of Appalachia before this book. I have a hard copy of the book and couldn't put it down but had to get some stuff done, so downloaded the audiobook so I didn't have to stop. I enjoyed the narration and tried reading in the accent of the narrator when I would switch back to the hard copy.

I am captivated by this series. The story line is entertaining and well done. I tried very hard to savor this latest book rather than listening to it all in one weekend. I may need to start the entire series over again to re live it.

plot twist!

I loved this story, perfect amount of violence for someone who is a little uneasy about blood, just sexy enough that you won't be blushing if you are listening in headphones while grocery shopping... lol, and the plot twist to end all plot twists! Even though the main character is a city girl in NYC I still felt that I could relate to her as a girl in CA living on a cattle ranch, she is very likeable. I really enjoyed this story and will definitely check out more from this author.

slow and confusing

When I began reading the story I was very excited! I loved The Outsider and was excited to see how the next adventure of that story would play out. The book consists of three different stories.

I really loved the first two stories. I kept wondering which of the various characters from both stories would turn out to be an outsider. The results of the stories and their relation to The Outsider were confusing and unsatisfying.

By the time I finished the book, (I read a physical copy of most of it and then listened from December 17 to the end of the book on audible at 1.25 speed so I could just get the dang book overwith) I was confused to realize that the first two stories didn't add to The Outsider plot. Some parts of this book felt like King was correcting mistakes that the show The Outsider got wrong from the first book. I found myself missing detective Anderson through out the book though and getting a little tired of Holly and her neurotic tendencies. I would read The Outisder again, I would not read this again.

I really wish o could listen to more than the first chapter, but apparently due to licensing restrictions or something I am unable to purchase this book in my area (greater sacramento area CA) what's up with that? why cant I download a book??
