Surprising way to end a book

I stayed up late hear the ending. I was smiling as my anticipation grew to hear what would be said between characters. I have not encountered an abrupt ending since my youth. I heard the words but I thought maybe I was missing something. It wasn’t until the Audible announcement came on that I realized what a cliff hanger and an incredibly smart way to end a book. I immediately went to find the next book so I can find out what happens with Millie.

The story was intriguing, while it blended several lives together based on the pillar of the family. Only draw back was the voice of Cullie. You can tell she was reading the words instead of being the words. But with practice she will do great.

This book is just what I needed. A thriller, mystery and with a little romance. I swore I had the story line figured out until the very end. As I was making dinner, I had to stop, cock my head and go “huh?”
I loved being surprised at the end. I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

outstanding, edge of your seat, shock and laughter

I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning. I was so addicted to the story I played it every chance I got. The story line is captivating, exciting, has twist and turns, shocking moments and at times I just started laughing aloud. I did not want it to end.

What did you love best about Men in Kilts?

The narrator and her voice changes. Made me feel as if I was there listening to them speak.

What does Cassandra Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice is soothing, teasing, serious and during the romantic scenes I actually blushed and giggled.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed. I was full of anticipation for the next day so that I could listen to it. I do not feel I would have had the same reaction to the book if I read it as I did by hearing it.
