Historia
Marooned in a sprawling farmhouse in Norfolk, teenage Linda Radlett feels herself destined for greater things. She longs for love, but how will she ever find it? She can't even get a signal on her mobile phone. Linda's strict, former rock star father terrifies any potential suitors away, while her bohemian mother, wafting around in silver jewellery, answers Linda's urgent questions about love with upsettingly vivid allusions to animal husbandry.

The words are just fantastic. The story rips along. Not boring for even half a second. Congratulations to India for this sensitive beautiful fun and joyously well expressed novel. A brilliant modern re interpretation of “The pursuit…”

Historia
There is often trouble of a mythical sort in Bath. The booksellers who police the Old World keep a careful watch there, particularly on the entity who inhabits the ancient hot spring. Yet this time it is not from Sulis Minerva that trouble starts. It comes from the discovery of a sorcerous map, leading left-handed bookseller Merlin into great danger. A desperate rescue is attempted by his sister the right-handed bookseller Vivien and their friend, art student Susan Arkshaw, who is still struggling to deal with her own recently discovered magical heritage.

Love Garth’s work. He’s a genius of imagination. Suspend your disbelief and enter a parallel universe. Magical.

Historia
In a slightly alternate London in 1983, Susan Arkshaw is looking for her father, a man she has never met. Crime boss Frank Thringley might be able to help her, but Susan doesn't get time to ask Frank any questions before he is turned to dust by the prick of a silver hatpin in the hands of the outrageously attractive Merlin. Susan's search for her father begins, while Merlin has a quest of his own, to find the Old World entity who used ordinary criminals to kill his mother.

Garth Nix has a great style about him

I was captivated by Newt’s Emerald and this story, set in 80’s London also very enjoyable. Some clever layering. Genuine mixed with fantasy. Lovely little changes of male to female famous people. Thanks Garth. Can’t wait for the new one.
