Historia
How does trauma affect a child's mind—and how can that mind recover? In the classic The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog, Dr. Perry explains what happens to the brains of children exposed to extreme stress and shares their lessons of courage, humanity, and hope. Only when we understand the science of the mind and the power of love and nurturing can we hope to heal the spirit of even the most wounded child.

Phenomenal!
Revisado: 06-20-23
The title had me nervous about the content of the book, but it was absolutely phenomenal! It tells stories of children who were traumatized, but offers an overall inspirational and hopeful message, and how it is presented. Incorporates science, research, real life situations, and the evolution of these practices over time. it was engaging and excellent content.

Historia
Disability is not just the story of someone we love or the story of whom we may become; rather it is undoubtedly the story of our nation. Covering the entirety of US history from pre-1492 to the present, A Disability History of the United States is the first audiobook to place the experiences of people with disabilities at the center of the American narrative. Not disability focused
Revisado: 02-26-23
More stories of marginalized people and less of those with disabilities. Nearly all stories were of people with two, three, or four claims of minority status, often the least of which was a disability.
Some sexually explicit writing that was entirely unnecessary to the content of the story so much so, the labeled genre should include “soft core porn”.
