Good Message about Responsibility
Revisado: 11-13-18
I liked this story a lot. I think it's a good message about responsibility for our actions that everyone in our society could use today. Especially our youth. Some really funny moments throughout and a number of really touching ones. The narrator did a good job.

Historia
Alice Humboldt has a perfect life. She spends her days cooking for her family, tending her infant daughter, and socializing with her neighbors, and thinks nothing of her existence outside the roles she plays. Until an icy-eyed police officer knocks on her door and accuses her of being a terrorist. As Alice's world crumbles around her, she's forced to confront the truth of her own existence: Is she as real as she feels? Or is she merely a product of someone's imagination, a programmed character in a video game? And if she's just a character, what is she going to do about it?

Cool Storyline But Wanted More
Revisado: 11-13-18
The story is an interesting one with a lot of potential. I think I would have preferred a longer book. I think the author had a great concept that could have been expanded, but the author kind of stops the story before it can be developed all the way.

Historia
All the money in the world won’t bring you happiness if the strings attached are pulled so tight you can’t breathe. Faith Morgan couldn’t breathe. Controlled all her life by a dominating father whose wealth influenced his actions and prejudices, Faith spent her teen years defying every rule Lionel Morgan made. Buddy Lee Walker is Boyd Walker’s son and mad as hell about it. He hasn’t been anybody’s boy since his mama died when he was six. When his no-account daddy went to prison for a bungled bank robbery and armed assault, 16-year-old Buddy Lee shouted “Hallelujah!"

Old-Fashioned Plot, Sweet Characters
Revisado: 11-13-18
So, the plot and certain story elements (like the names of almost every character) are a little old-fashioned. How far back do you have to go to find people named Lionel and Beryl? And all of the focus on giving Faith's baby a name to legitimize it is pretty silly in this day and age. But aside from the out-dated nature of the story and some of the more ridiculous names, the main characters were very sweet and likable. You found yourself rooting for them, just because they were trying so hard to be good to the other person. The narrator did a good job differentiating the characters without making Buddy Lee a caricature with his accent.
