I wasn't sure about the content of the story as I have loved ones dealing with Dementia, but this story gave hope and humor to what can often be a difficult and frustrating journey with suffering loved ones who experience the cruel mental diseases of dementia and Alzheimer's. I'm hoping for a sequel. :)

I loved the characters. I wish the next book was out already. I can’t wait! Susan May Warren is a wonderful author.

The humor mixed with common sense and interesting stories made my outdoor work so enjoyable and has me googling all the National Parks! I wish there were more Jim Burnett books on Audible. Narration was wonderful, like sitting by a campfire with a Ranger sharing stories over a good cup of coffee.

I really enjoyed hearing the snippets of history and seeing the parks through other people’s eyes. Fun, quick listen.

I liked the variety of writing styles as well as the changes of history woven throughout. Good narration.

I’m losing track of the story, and I wasn’t sure why until I glanced at the reviews. They are right. Not all of the narrator’s voices sound organic. Some almost feel sarcastic. I think the doctor’s voice is believable, but the women’s voices and the Norwegian accents are irritating. I’m listening at 1.5x speed now to get through it since I don’t want to miss the story. I pay for Audible because sitting still to read is almost painful. I’m looking forward to the second book in the series.

I love the duo of Mary Connealy & Barbara McCulloh!! Every story is worth the cost. Now I have to go dig through the other less worthy books to find a good story fix again….

Adults and kids both enjoyed the suspenseful masterpiece. We felt a bond with the characters and were transported to the land of Aerwiar - a great family vacation with plenty of inside jokes. So good!

I thought this book could have accurately been titled “Humans: Plant-Deceived Addicts”. Listening in 2x speed actually gave the book a more humorous effect in light of the heightened, fast-speed influence of caffeine that the author wanted to convey to his audience. I almost felt motivated to try going coffee-free until the end of the book where he pretty much throws in the towel and says life is better with caffeine - why fight it? If you know it’s an addiction and you’re ok with it, why stop? I guess I wanted to feel inspired to change, and it stopped short of that. He paints the picture that people have been duped by two plants into boosting them to a higher spot in the evolutionary ladder of survival. We disagree at that point, and I think that’s where I lost interest. I liked that he covered a bit of the world history of caffeine.

I thought the story was fun, But the women’s voices were too similar to me. I kept getting the detectives voice another women’s voices mixed up. The ending wasn’t my favorite.
