A Huge Disappointment
Revisado: 11-20-24
This was described as a “feel-good story.” It is filled with foul language, drugs, sexual exploitation of a minor by a cop, and killings … and that’s just the first couple of chapters. Sorry, but I couldn’t hang on long enough to get to a “feel-good” part. Sorry I bought it.

Loved this story!
Revisado: 09-11-20
Such a beautiful story. Only drawback was the narration. I loved the narrator’s voice, but there were numerous mispronunciations and the reading was rough ... phrases run together, breaks in the middle of a thought, as if the reader was seeing the material for the first time. The story made it worthwhile to stick with it.

Historia
Bonds That Make Us Free is a groundbreaking book that suggests the remedy for our troubling emotions by addressing their root causes. You'll learn how, in ways we scarcely suspect, we are responsible for feelings like anger, envy, and insecurity that we have blamed on others. Even though we fear to admit this, it is good news. If we produce these emotions, it falls within our power to stop them. But we have to understand our part in them far better than we do, and that is what this remarkable book teaches.

Lisa Wingate has been favorably compared to authors Nicholas Sparks and Richard Paul Evans. In A Month of Summer, Hanna Beth has been caring for her aging husband - who suffers from Alzheimer's - and her developmentally challenged adult son for years on her own. But when she suffers a stroke, estranged stepdaughter Rebecca must take the reins. As she cares for her father and the step-brother she's barely met, Rebecca slowly begins to heal both herself and her family.

Beautiful, captivating read!
Revisado: 06-04-20
Beautifully crafted, every word contributed to the visions, emotions and characterizations of the story. Trust - both kept and broken - dealt with honestly and frankly. A magnificent portrayal of family, frailty and hope. I loved every page!
