Historia
In 2063, Earth's overheated climate and war-ravaged cities are near breaking point. A new habitable planet is discovered within reach, but the first two missions have failed to return. This is the story of the third mission to Eden. What really awaits the crew of four as they make the long journey to this supposedly uninhabited virgin planet, and what is the link to the secret 900-year-old sect known as Alicians back on Earth? While Blake leads the Eden mission, a young researcher named Micah discovers a terrible truth that threatens the very existence of humanity.

well thought out plot, unique story, not your run of the mill sci fi. story unto itself so no wanting for what happened in a series however author has left on opening for a continuation but did not detract the the story end. this book was much enjoyed

utter disappointment
Revisado: 02-26-21
I purchased this book as I really like Kong's The Land series. I couldn't finish this book. Boring, drawn out and repetitive writing, stupid main character, ... hard to believe this was written by the same author that wrote the Land. utterly disappointed. did I say that already?

wonderful story!
Revisado: 12-27-20
Well crafted world building with new ways of seeing imaginary races. Great depth and complexity to the story - the stories within the main plot ARE part of the main plot. The concept is expansive so if you like books that are neat and straight forward this book is not for you. Those of you with wild, immense imaginations, welcome to the feast. Yeah, the main characters can be whiney, stubborn, self centered, repeat mistakes, make poor decisions, -- oh wait, just like every human being I have ever met . Great literary works are full of less than admirable main characters. So to those whining about the main character faults - we hate most in others what we dislike in ourselves. As for politics, it is still a democracy with free speech and you are not being forced to read this book. Geez, Audible allows returns. I enjoyed this author 's work enough to support her artistic endeavors with monthly donations.

Historia
Joe has started to draw attention to himself and his abilities. While some of the attention is good and allows for personal growth, most of it is from various organizations that feel threatened by the sudden upswing of power that Joe's guild - The Wanderers - is attaining. As the threat to Earth begins to reach its peak, all of humanity has a choice: flee to Eternium, or stay for an uncertain future. Some stay, some go, some don't make the choice quickly enough.

Historia
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

slow and verbose but a great story
Revisado: 01-28-18
So I dont usually listen to this type of book so maybe my impressions are naive. Here is my assessment for what it is worth. The story is slow to start and I found the narrator irritating at first. I was able to work past the narrator. The story line is good and inventive and believable to the imagination. However, there are times when characters drone on and on and on and... (you get the picture) essentially belaboring the point to death. I was like 'shut up already and move on'. When the story proceeds without the rambling it works and then more enjoyable. There was some great story telling only to be trashed by yet another page of endless yapping. That happened at the very end which sucked as it ruined the culmination of the book. but the culmination, primary goal, was good enough to make me buy the next book. I like the main character - he has redeeming qualities and some dumb ones. The detail during the best parts - wizard stuff, globin things, confrontations - worked and did not detract from what was going on. Fun. Would be funner with out the blithering.

In this “deftly and originally executed” (Booklist) New York Times best-selling novel, Vaelin Al Sorna must help his Queen reclaim her Realm. Only his enemy has a dangerous new collaborator, one with powers darker than Vaelin has ever encountered...“The Ally is there, but only ever as a shadow, unexplained catastrophe or murder committed at the behest of a dark vengeful spirit. Sorting truth from myth is often a fruitless task". After fighting back from the brink of death, Queen Lyrna is determined to repel the invading Volarian army.

What did you love best about Coyote Rising?
Alternate universe approach
What did you like best about this story?
The book although a part of a series can stand alone. I dislike reading a series as it is just a scam to pad weak story lines, draw out the drama and take my money
