I read this book months ago. I couldn't stop thinking about the story and the characters after reading it. Even after time has passed, I think about it. Until the spring of 2020 I was an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher. This story made me think of the dangers and hardships many of my students experienced on their journey to the U.S., and the difficulties they encountered upon their arrival. This is a story that has stayed with me.

Loved the story, but the narrator mispronounced many words both in English and Spanish. I found it distracting. Those segments should probably have been re-recorded.
