Well, I thought it was fun! (Slow Burn Romance)
Revisado: 12-04-20
After listening to the first book, I was shocked to see Torrent was next- seeing he was kinda the bad guy in the last book...
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the chemistry of the characters. He's a charming king (with the easiest rule ever) and lack for a better word, man-whore, used to few people -let alone women- disobeying him. Torrent was a lot of fun to read and I loved his boldness. I felt it balance out Candy's nervous nature. Yeah, he messes up pretty good, but I feel that gave him authenticity. He tries to return to his ways that he fou
Candy- it took me a long minute to accept her name. Honestly, there were times she was a little cruel to Torrent, but they weren't unusually so. Since she's been surviving off her looks and body for so long, she wants to give her heart who is into her as a person. As someone who struggles with self confidence and anxiety at times, I felt her character was perfectly relatable. She's a tad too restrictive at times but that's where Torrent can challenge her and help her grow.
I enjoyed the depth to these characters and look forward to reading the next one 🖤

Good! But went on a ways...

I liked the story, but there’d are parts at the end that I feel were uncharacteristic or even dumb by the heroine and I began to just wish I could get onto the next book already.
All in all though I was very entertained!

Historia
Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I'm one of them. Yay, me. In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie's a jerk, because it also thinks I'm the mate to the biggest, surliest alien of the group.

Ruby Dixon is my drug dealer!!! <3
Revisado: 10-19-18
my favorite of the entire series! but I honestly love anything Ruby Dixon touches. the woman is a sci-fi alien romance wizard!!!
I love liz's spunk and wit, life dealt her some crappy cards and she stares it down with a back handed compliment. and she finds herself a male who is worthy of her and she of him.
I dont reread books, but I totally re-read this one!

Potential was there...
Revisado: 04-07-18
Story starts up intriguing. Skips over describing any details really to fully grasp an image of any character. I liked the idea of the main character being tough and with her own power that matched her new “people to be”. But from there, very little makes sense. Things happen with no explanation. She lustily falls for this warlord - after he drops her at her request -hardly speaking 5 words to him, claiming that it’s the deepest of love. Ships crash or riots begin but with no detail as to how it falls into place. Falls into the hands of TWO different leaders that want to impregnate her. And with the latter she makes some very HORRIBLE decisions that left me wanting to give up and leave her with her awful consequences and just terrible, dumb ideas. Kept hoping that it would turn around... but sad to say this story shrivels and dies and cuts so many corners.
